Good price.

Yeah I saw it on Tesco. Would have been £28.49 each with my daughter's staff discount, but they won't let me buy three. Exceeds the buying limit apparently.

Is this good for an investment do u think?

Not at £39.99 I don't think, no. Might have been a few quid in it at £28

I think this will go up considerably once it retires. It’s a collectible.

Wait long enough and maybe.

I can't see it being by much though - they've sold too many, and every man and his dog has got wise to the attraction of buying stuff to put away and sell on after it is discontinued.

The early Ideas sets sold in relatively limited numbers - hence the Delorean appreciating so much - but they're much bigger production runs now, as I understand it.

Buy it, enjoy the build and displaying it and consider it a bonus if you can sell it on for a modest profit inna year or two.

They way to make money in Lego is to buy at 75% off, then sell at 10% over RRP when it retires. That's what I do.

Good insight. I’ve always profited from lego but know absolutely nothing about this set. Thanks.

That sounds like a plan An awful lot of it goes for way more than 10% over RRP though. I can understand people paying a premium for the rare collectible sets that had limited quantities, but even that's a risk. The Taj Mahal is an example of that.

What I don't understand are all the idiots paying double RRP for sets on Ebay that are still available at the Lego Shop for RRP. Don't people check? The prices for some of the recent Christmas Limited Edition freebies are staggering too. Why would people pay that?

Perhaps it just balances out. For every HUKD member who's careful with money and savvy, there are a dozen idiots.

That's perhaps the most sensible advice on here in a while It's certainly what I do unless there is an obvious bargain
