Looked at this deal when the new catalogue came out - at the time, most of the £5 sets were £1 cheaper elsewhere, so not really a saving of more than £2 overall!

There aren't many cheap small sets of Lego under £10 available at Argos anymore - Lego seem to be shifting their market towards the mid to high price sets at the moment.

Shame it isn't on the bigger lego friends kits

So where can you get all of these for £4 in the same shop or with delivery?

Space Buggy (£3.97 ASDA, £3.99 John Lewis) and Fire ATV (£4 Tesco) - online, but my local Tesco has more range on the shelf.

Got the Police ATV from Argos in July at £3.74! It's £3.99 with John Lewis.

I'd struggle to find 31000 and 31001 at under £4.99, but in general the rest of these sets were £4 each at Argos the day before the new catalogue came out, and Argos increased the price by £1 each and introduced the 3 for 2 offer

So a month ago, these would have cost £12 from Argos, so while still a deal, it's not the great deal that it appears as you are paying more for the items in the first place - you can still pick up many of them at £4 each at other stores that haven't increased prices at present. Look at it more as a buy two at the original price, get the third at half original price! (_;)

again your talking about ordering from different shops, travel or possibly postage comes into play no?

and also your referring to prices from 2 months ago

These little sets are often on offer at £2-£3 though, so it's just a marketing ploy - I haven't checked Smyths or The Entertainer or any other toy shop, but I think it's only really Argos that's increased the price on these little sets.

I rarely pay full price for Lego unless it's a rare / hard to find set. I think my current overall discount is 57% off all sets, so you can see why I don't consider this a good deal at just 17% off the original £4 prices if you buy the 3.
