How are people getting it for £4.99 it’s showing as £6.99

It would seem this is a retired set. When lego brought it out they recommended the price be 4.99 according to a good site Brickset. Last year you could likely get this at lego.com for 4.99. Lego.com no longer stock it. However, there is presently no where to get it at £4.99. It's £6.99 in Argos or £14+ (delivered) in other online stores (see amazon for example).

Brickset do advertise that you can buy this set for around a fiver still in places BUT if you look into it, this is £5 converted from American dollars as from US sellers, so by time you add on postage from USA it's not going to be a fiver! I think the lowest price on there from a UK seller, without postage included, is £10.

In conclusion, you can't buy it for £4.99 unless you have a time machine to go back to 2016.

I'm thinking great little decoration we can enjoy building before Christmas and display during festive season but can put back in box for rebuild every year! I'll still be doing it in my retirement when kids have left haha

Just reserved ty

Thanks very much! I was offered free delivery on checkout so booked for Saturday, saves the trip out as nearest Argos is a little out of the way

RRP appears to be £4.99?

Hmmmmmm...Just checked to see if it is a retired set and think it is. Which could be why it has gone up in value. You won't find it anywhere for £4.99 now I don't think as I did a bloody good search, though if you have a deal please do share! Ebay, Amazon etc. all have it for £14+

@sam_brackley we do the Christmas builds every year with his previous advent calenders. Its a nice tradition. I wouldnt mind getting the Christmas train aswell if it pops up cheap anywhere.

I couldn't resist. Will love this with my daughter!

I think this was a promotional item from Argos last year. You had to spend so much on Lego to get it ??

got it 2 weeks ago when it was 3 for 2...whoop...whoop

Heat, nice stocking filler for my lad. Many thanks OP.

But it's 2017 lol...also ordered and no email or text.

I got this direct from Lego last year and it was only £5 something when it was on 50% off sad so that Brickset entry is wrong.

i fast tracked got email straight away and as when first tried order issues with phone it reserved me two to . I only met my son a few weeks back anyway have see him a contact centre was amazing meeting him . anyway for my last visit will give this to his nan so his mum can build it with him.

I have been getting these since the 3 for 2 offer was on, cheapest place is Argos! I would get the stock while you can, at this price!

Also just realised that there is a special offer when you buy this of 25% off lego compatible construction tape. 2 stud wide is normally £9.99, 4 stud wide is normally £14.99. To be honest you can get the 2 stud made by different companies a lot cheaper on eBay but 4 stud wide I can struggle to find for less than £14.99 so at the reduced price of £11.74 that's pretty good if you want it. IMO 4 stud is better than 2 stud anyway though it's too late for me to order it now anyway (doh!)
