I was just going to post this. No doubt it will attract the usual idiots who vote cold on every Lego deal, but it's probably the best set Lego have ever made and this is the cheapest I've seen it. An absolute stunner of a set
lovely looking set
Thanks I'm a dead man walking now.
£259.99 at lego so a 22% saving

Yeah, me too. I just got away with the Argos deal purchases yesterday. Had to sneak off somewhere quiet to order this

No, it's over 23%. Every tiny bit matters when it eventually comes to having to justify this
damn, I had it in my basket and went off to see if there were any vouchers and by the time I got to checkout it was OOS. Got the last one in my local but that's a £5 drive away - hope the box does not have the usual Smyths shelf wear

I went for home delivery this time. My nearest store was 16 miles away and only had one. I assumed that one from somewhere central might be less likely to be bashed. My last one from Smyths wasn't great.

It does look nice, but I’m guessing you haven’t seen the Ghostbusters HQ which clearly is AWESOME

I think they are both immense

Free home delivery though. My nearest was 16 miles away

I have seen it. Each to his or her own I guess. The Ghostbusters HQ is a great set, just think that this has something extra. It's just a fantastic build on so many levels. Theme appeals to me more as well. I'd have both if the budget/wife permitted

I haven't mentioned the Fire Mech/Green Dragon sets I bought from Amazon last night yet. Non Lego enthusiasts don't understand 'savings'. Anyhow, she is looking at new lampshades. It's exactly the same cultural divide.......

thank reserved last one at my local. just hope box is not trashed!
Great set ! Heat added op
Thanks, ordered 30 for eBay
First Lego post for a while without 'cooling added' or 'how much? I could buy a car for that'. Give it time though.

Many thanks. It's a bit of a trek but managed to get one at my second closest store.
Been wanting to buy a large Lego set for ages. Had my eye on the Disney Castle, but I think this is a much better set...and at £100 less, I'm gonna have two happy kids next Christmas!
shame no where near us has any in stock and cant travel hundreds of miles no matter how much i want it
Could not resist. Thanks OP
Good price for a really good set. It’s a fantastic build, so much detail and character in it. Plus it’s absolutely huge - totally dwarfs the modular buildings.

Tabbyboy must be on holiday....he's always voting cold on everything and usually tries to get into every Lego deal thread immediately with his worthless comments

He's only actually posted one proper deal as the other one he posted got deleted because it was a pathetic effort on his part to post something that wasn't a deal as was a mispriced lego product at a high price....talk about attention seeking
Back in stock online. Saved me a trip to store to pick the other one up.

EDIT > well that lasted less than 20mins.

I've seen him posting on other forums - he says he got banned from here for a short while!
Man, prob just as well out of stock (nearest store in donkeys away), think I would have bought it. That despite not having got the 1960's Batman set that's much cheaper and insanely cool, but this looks like a fabulous bit on engineering!
Missed this! Definitely would have had it!
I'm new to picking up these big ticket Lego items. Can one of you bargain experts enlighten me - how does it work with these 'exclusive' Lego sets? Do they just take a while to trickle out to other retailers and get discounts like this? Cheers!
Depends if Lego keep them as Exclusive to them or out to retailers..seems only the seasonal (Easter, Valentines, etc) don't got to other retailers from what i've observed.
^ Generally that is the case. Lego has them as exclusive for a set period of time, then one of the bigger stores, in this case Smyth's, gets them as 'Exclusive To...' sets. Once this happens, then you start to see them discounted occasionally.

The seasonal sets often end up at other retailers, usually supermarkets, a year later. So you might see last year's Valentine's set in Tesco or Sainsbury's this year if you're lucky.
Back in stock again for delivery
