You know about CNC and can quote metal types yet fail to grasp the complexities of Lego and the manufacturer involved to create this toy; a fictional non existent item, that would've been blueprinted to scale then 1000's of varying size Lego pieces created from new and many unique to this build made. Please don't get involved when you know very little. The material is irrelevant. Making a point it's plastic! You think it would be any easier from another material?

£500 is a lot. But this item has rarity. The original 2007 model I believe sold around this price and is now one of the most expensive and sort after Lego models.

Don't inject (plastic reference) on a topic you know nothing about, whilst trying to sound clever.

With regards to trustpilot not too disimilar to John Lewis - but anyway it's a £150 saving, paypal for peace of mind, thought it was a decent saving and worth a post.

I've seen tons of sites pop up on Facebook like these recently. Get this cheap! Look at website and everything is crazy discounted. They are obviously a scam. Can't tell if this one is one of them or not :/

It's not a scam site. El Corte Inglès is a department store in Spain. I wouldn't buy from their website though having read the reviews
I visited this place when I went to Madrid in November, was absolutely huge. Not sure about using the website though

Buy 11. Put 10 on ebay. That'll make the 11th the price you seek
The world really HAS gone mad, looking at that mental price!

£500 for Lego.

no wonder people buy Lepin instead.

Tbf I can't think of something off the top of my head for that price range. I was thinking things like high-end cars - tens of thousands of pounds extra for something that a lower-end model could do almost as well

47 days worth of cigarettes if you're a 20 a day person. That's probably worse for you, and those of us who have to smell it. I'll not defend lego's pricing, but this set offers a bit more than some other activities that all cost a lot of money also. People like whatever they like, and this will likely hold it's value once you've had your fun with it....
For around £500 you can buy a pre-assembled and painted Deagostini Millennium Falcon on eBay, which is 1/43 studio scale to the 3ft model made by ILM for TESB.

I understand Lego has a fandom, but personally for the same money I would always go for a model replica. Perhaps that's just me.

In titanium this would be anywhere from 20,000 to 250,000 easily. I think people often forget how expensive high precision manufacturing is. Plastics the right material for a model like this, it doesn't corrode, change it's shape based on temperature and doesn't need to be machined.
I just joined HD-UK to post this as think it's important. The Wikipedia page linked above en.wikipedia.org/wik…A9s shows the website address as: elcorteingles.com the link in this deal is for elcorteingles.es/. I can't find this set on the proper elcorteingles.com website so I'm pretty sure it's someone pretending to be El Corte Inglés and this deal is actually a scam site.
I used to work in smyths and something like this came in - lego limited edition star wars m falcons. A college told me to buy a few like he was he told me they would be worth a mint i laughed at him this was the same time xbox 360 was released as i bought that instead got one put away while everyone queued out the store. He sold them a few years ago for 10-20k each. Not right in head some people when it comes to these things

I chose not to use Al as an alternative material as that would be rather pricey for even that machined to a Millennium Falcon shape in my opinion

Well they cant sell a 7500 piece build for the same as a 3800 can they, so the price is about right on sale.
For this price, I would expect Harrison Ford to come to my house to put it together with me.

If you visit the .com website and go into the other websites link it will have the .es website listed so it's Not a scam website.

I've ordered plenty from their Portuguese shop and in store their customer service is second to none. I've never had to use their web customer service though.

Why would anyone EVER put themselves through that? If you're throwing £500 at a car it'd better be a Toyota Corolla or Yaris or the mechanics will be bending you over eventually

You're getting bent over by a mechanic for any £500 car.

They're £500 for a reason after all.

Not the 2001 1.4 VVTi Corolla I bought for £500, did nothing to bar an oil and plug change which subsequently flew through the MOT and I sold for the same price again. That was no complicated modern Fiat. Old cars are cheap, scrappers are also cheap but you need to recognise the difference to avoid being bent over
Why do people feel the need to comment the same nonsense on EVERY top end LEGO post?

It’s cheaper than normal. Therefore it’s a DEAL. If you don’t want it or find it’s not what you’d spend £500 on then move along. Sake.

If your giving away £500 for bits of plastic, your scammed what ever way you look at it. No wonder they can afford to buy: Madame Tussauds, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. Give me strength.

This coming from somebody who hasn't posted a single deal, but a comment thread titled "Do women like hairy guys" in which you explain why you're single. Maybe a decent lego kit will take your mind off of things.....
I came for the comments, I wasn't disappointed.

so true basic CNC machining runs around £40 an hour something this intricate expect the machining to run into thousands. then Disney would sue you for copyright
