Good price but needs to be 40% off plus now
I wasnt 100% if this would be a dupe but these are from seperate companies and with different delivery options so curious to see if mods would let it through....

No worries

im loving the constant price matches between Argos and Amazon recently. Argos are really competing with amazon being able to offer same day pick up with their many stores. If only they would improve their returns policy to match amazon.

Got a link to a time machine?

I doubt it but what’s wrong with informing people if the price has been lower in the past? It allows them to make an informed decision if they’re willing to wait.

This is an argos deal
Nice little set this one, bought it for my son for Christmas, was a similar price late last year when I bought it.
have some heat!
Check out the lighting kits you can buy for this, looks pretty smart and can be bought quite cheap from overseas

But Argos did slightly better than Amazon at paying their taxes. I'd assume that their new owners are still better than Amazon at paying their dues. For that reason I would always favour Argos (despite Amazon having slightly better no quibble returns)

I also favour other UK companies over amazon but one of the problems is that its much easier to track items on amazon then elsewhere. Argos big promlem is that they leave items out of stock in their webpages and then actual stock varies considerable from store to store when it comes to click and collect. People pay for convinience in the end of the day.

When the system is so broken with how taxing works, I can’t blame the companies, so I will choose what benefits the consumer the most. Laws need to change. Businesses will ALWAYS aim for the best tax allowance deals and pay as little tax as legally possible. Looking at your link, Home-group (Argos etc) paid £29m tax on 129m profit which isn’t terrible. How they worked out their ‘profit’ to such a low figure, based on the £5.3b of sales, no-doubt is terrible though. Everyone is doing it because they can. Expenses, expenses, ‘expenses’ (think of buying a multi-million £ sun seeker yacht for the business, which is what the smaller-than-this companies do, but then there’s a world of expenses/business cost tricks that us regular folks can’t even imagine). It Says Amazon paid £11m tax on £5.7b sales, with no profile figure given.

If consumers were to take a stand on every issue that companies were guilty of, we would be wearing organic togas, walking barefoot and communicating with paper cups.
More regulation is needed and pressure from consumers. Hard nut to crack.
We are big fans of lego and also of Harry Potter, so this set is right up our street.

But past prices don't necessarily have any relevence to future prices. It's gone. It's finished. That's then, this is now.

You are right, it is gone, it is finished, and this is the best (and a very good) price now.

There may not be any relevance, correct, but it’s highly likely - there’s no harm in telling people. I’d love to know if it has been cheaper in the future if I don’t need it right now. That way even if it doesn’t go back lower, it may come close to this again, and it’s not a be all/end all grab it now deal.

Right... So you're saying whenever a deal is posted for anything, someone who has the time and inclination can go back and post all the previous prices it's been and ideally this should happen for everything posted on here? Ok.

No. But I appreciate if someone does tell me. I don’t know if that was the commenter’s intent or whether it was a reason for voting cold (which I disagree with, unless it’s a mediocre deal that’s similar to a price it often is anyway, which doesn’t apply here), but I don’t mind the information.
Was around this price all over Xmas. Not sure why anyone finds that irrelevant or why this is so hot. Typically overpriced Lego RRP but if you want one at this price then looks like you've plenty of opportunity to pick one up.
Thanks for posting; we have added this to the Highlights section
