I have been watching this set for a while. A good saving of 20%, the same price as it was in Hamleys the other week, but looks like JL has a decent amount of stock.
Please buy them all before I am tempted!

Because if people like this sort of thing then it’s a good deal.

if you’re not into this kind of thing and/or don’t have the means to afford it (fair enough), why even bother opening the deal and wasting your time

Phew had me worried there, paid the exact same price in Smyths 2 weeks ago.

My coaster obsessed daughter would absolutely love this but £240??

It is an outstanding set and well worth it for £240. It is so impressive and such great fun to have a working coaster at home. It could be the cheapest this set gets for a very long time, those holding out for a sub £200 price may never get to own it.

There is another coaster set which is about £50. My daughter loves it.
Love this set myself but I can't justify paying £240 for plastic bricks, as impressive as it is.

Will be £200 soon enough. Lego always discount usually 30 percent or so. You’d be a fool to pay this price.

It's rare to find these direct to consumer sets with good reductions. Yeah the smaller mass produced sets get down to 30% off all the time. 20% off is about as good as most D2C sets ever see and some never see 10%.

Not on the large Creator sets - these are already discounted: 4124 pieces for £300 RRP is about 7.2p per piece, which, given that many of the pieces are large such as the tracks, is a really good base price. At £240 the price per piece is less than 6p, which is excellent. I can't see this going sub £200 unless there's some rare combo deal or it's B-stock.

nice to kids
Surprised that no one has pointed out that once this is discontinued, it will appreciate in value anyway, so you can’t lose
As someone who played with legos as a kid.. why is the price this price? It looks ridiculous for what you get.

It looks amazing for what you get. The piece count and unique bricks justifies the price
Cheers. Got it for £216!
Ordered thanks was waiting for a deal on this set it’s huge looking forward to the build, kids not allowed
Was waiting for this for a long time now, bought, thanks!
This is rubbish, even the coaster is hand wound, for £200+ you'd think they would have battery powered it.l

Unique bricks are just a mold in a factory and can be produced just as cheaply as any other brick if they wanted it to. Meh. Lets just leave this convo as it is.
I saw this put my hands up in the air and went WHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Thank you for posting @astewardson we have added your thread to the Highlights section
Good price. Paid £300 last year when it was the only thing the boy wanted. Bit of a rip off at that price but £240 isn't bad at all.
Thank you! Wanted this for ages and it's due to be retired according to local Lego store.
Nice to see the Lego version doesn't cost an arm and a leg

And those moulds have to be developed with an extremely tight tolerance for them to be compatible with every single other Lego piece ever made. There's way more to it than just a mould. Not to mention the creative and design processes that go into creating a set like this. Just admit you haven't got a clue what you're talking about and we'll leave it at that.
