These are ridiculously priced, so I guess any saving is a bonus, for those of us foolish enough to pay it...

This one could actually be quite collectible though, if kept in it's box unopened.

Amazon don't take payment until dispatch either, so if it drops elsewhere in the meantime you can just cancel this - but bear in mind that the exchange rate may vary in the meantime, so this price you pay could go up or down before release.

Release date is 21st Jan 2016.

I was hoping the other level packs might be cheap too, but there's an extra 5 euros on each of them. Hope it doesn't mean this pack is gonna be rubbish to play
Any idea what the best packs are? Have ordered the starter pack but what else is worth getting

Portal 2 followed by Simpsons, avoid BTF.

Back to the Future no good? I heard a rumour it was quite short.

We've got that one & Simpsons, but I'm letting the kids get on and build the stuff before I play them... it's killing me though!

To be fair I haven't got it, but ive heard pretty negative things myself. Its very short and has a boring uninspired generic wild west setting. I do have the other two though, but lets be honest they are stupidly overpriced. Personally I don't think lego dimensions is anywhere near as good as skylanders/Disney. The constant requirement to fiddle with the portal kills the game for me, since my gaming setup (including portals) are about 12 foot from where I sit.

Yea, I have to move a chair a little closer to the telly to play it!

I find that the portal fiddling is really un-intuitive, it was a real case of trial and error whilst I worked out what to do, and the kids are still struggling to grasp it now.

As for the prices, I guess what we're actually paying for is the glut of license fees they've had to pay for all the content. The price really isn't reflective of the quality of the game at all. At the end of the day, it just seems to be a standard lego game where instead of unlocking the characters within the game, you're having to pay hard cash for them instead.
Only that price at today's exchange rate, and since they don't charge until dispatch then what you pay could vary quite wildly...

Fair comment - but wildly is probably a bit far, it's only 2 months away. I'll update the OP anyway (not thread title, would be ridiculously long!).

^^ what Maccy said. X)
I think it's the best toys to life type game I've played. the portal switching thing is brilliant because you actually "play" with the thing (yes I am 34 and my 3 year old is way too young for it) but my set up let me just move the portal to the arm of my sofa. The reviews were pretty clear about the nature of the game, so to criticise it due to your set up is like saying kinect is rubbish when you live in a shoe box (though, perhaps a bad analogy, as kinect is invariably crap, even with loads of room)..

I think it's good - could just be a bit clearer with what needs to be done. Once you get the hang of it though it's pretty easy.
Really enjoying the game, just can't get over the prices
The prices are completely off. A level pack should be a tenner as an absolute maximum. I have all the Lego games, and am a big Lego collector - stearing well clear of Dimensions though....
