Allow me to venture into details of that. (ebay seller 10k++)
Item cost £10.00
"silly money" = recently sold items on ebay £19.99 (do you know how to find recently sold?)
Seems like a nice profit of £9.99, does it?
Don't forget about:
ebay listing fee = £0.40
ebay sales fee 10% = £1.99
paypal sales fee 3.4% = £0.68
paypal fixed fee = £0.20
postage cost, RM signed for 2nd class = £3.90
packaging cost, assuming a cheap but sturdy box = £0.50
This leave you with a nice and tidy profit of £2.32
You just intended to make business here so must pay income tax 20% (I am serious) and NI (depending on total turnover)
£2.32 - £0.46 = £1.86 TOTAL PROFIT woohoo
Also, ticket, petrol, your time to get to Tesco and the Post Office...
Please tell me that you gonna use Hermes for postage and a box you had in the loft to maximize the profit :-)

Making money on ebay is so easy ;-)

6 days ago.... people were paying 90 quid

Actually that was £86 for last years one. Anyway it's a child's toy and an adults treat.
Anyone charging that much over RRP is mean and people paying that much are just dim.

Why are they mean? These are completely unnecessary, luxury goods. They can charge whatever price they like for them.

If you can guarantee that they are doing it properly as a business with all associated benefits to the tax man then I support that capitalism. Otherwise it's greedy and mean.
Why should people who want to buy one at a proper price lose out while people snap them up to speculate and profit from?
