If you make use of those points, maybe. If you want to spend less today, this is better
Got this for £55 when Smyths did £10 off per £50 spend. That was in-store only though, so this is a good price for online purchases

And this is also obvious that it depends on the size of the set for how much it costs- doesn’t really need spelling out.

If you get enough then you can turn the points into £‘s off but you’ll need quite a few points

It needs to be the size of Buckingham palace for me lol. I’m not a Lego fan just a f.r.i.e.n.d.s fan and it’d be the most I’ve ever paid for merchandise.

I might wait until the sales.

Having bought and built this, it's honestly well priced; the fan that submitted their Idea, which then became this set, I was worried it would cost even more than the normal £65 price due to the license and amount of pieces. I expected like £100, due to how many pieces the original submission involved.

You say you'll wait until sales, it's a bit risky; the last best price was not long ago at £55 but this set hasn't been out for three months yet. And even then, how much would you really save by waiting for however long for the next time it gets a discount? Ideas sets generally don't get discounted very much for the most part.
Can somone tell me if this would likely hold its value? Used
Fab Christmas present!

Always impossible to be certain, but based on previous Ideas sets if you keep the box and instructions in good condition and look after the set then you would be unlikely not to get your money back in the future

Pretty much all Lego sets increase in value after being retired, especially if you buy them on sale. This set is very popular, so a lot more out there, but it will also be very desirable after it retires.
