These LEGO games always make me wish I was a PC gamer. They’re always like 20% of the price of the PS4/XO versions.

This is true of most games. Also, no charges to play online.
Also 2% (or 5% for a newbie) cashback at Quidco or TCB
How's this compare to the first? Kids are still well into that one, having completed campaign but slowly unlocking various characters.

It's the free play in the massive city that they find most enjoyable (hence less time into the Lego batman games), does this one still have a big free play city/equivalent?

You don't need a massively powerful PC to run them. I played a LEGO game on a crappy Toshiba i3 laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics. It ran rather well.

From the reviews ive taken time to read I believe it does have an open world / free play along side the campaign.

It's a wicked game. My daughter loves it, as do I when I play on it with her.
Still an open world. It's got all kinds of different worlds in one on this one. Definitely worth the price. I brought it when it came out for her on the Xbox one. She's only just recently completed it 100%

I read that the open world bit comes quite late in the game though. I know in the first one you had to go through a good few levels before new york opened up. Have this one on the switch and admittedly only done 2 odd levels, no 'open world' yet

It's excellent. Better than the first. Plus they released an extra Avengers Infinity Download pack for it.
