I hope it does retire soon, I have 2 in the loft sealed for investment … I hope it does retire soon, I have 2 in the loft sealed for investment purposes.

It will still be selling everywhere for ages. Even if they aim to retire around start of 2021 (which may not even happen as they are basically printing money), tons of these are in storage ready to come out when needed - several years worth at least. These will be selling online for the long foreseeable future. I have tons of Lego in storage that retired years ago and can't shift any of it - the prices haven't increased at all despite having retired years ago as there are constantly still loads of brand new sealed ones for sale. I also have 20 year old premium large technic sets that should be worth a fortune but they aren't selling for much either. Lego is a terrible investment. Only good for playing with and displaying.

I wouldn’t count on postage these days especially with Royal Mail putting up prices
Bargain. I've ordered 2
Got mine from Smyths for around £500, wait for the big sales

Double VIP points will be on so if this set isn't reduced there will still be £65 in VIP points you could earn plus get a free set. I doubt this will be one of the sets they reduce but hopefully im wrong on that one.
Great deal, just wish I had the space to store it, although even if I had the space, I think the wife would divorce me. I can imagine her face now when the courier turns up with the gigantic box. I’ll stick to building 75053 The Ghost for now.

Great price and if im right this set is rumoured to retire this year which i hope is a lie as i don't think I'll be able to get this for a couple more years
Great deal. I built and sold one when it was originally launched: recovered more than I paid. Itching to get this again after the Star Destroyer earlier in the week.
Not that cheap considering what these have fallen to before
What a piece of junk!

I disagree, get the right sets and you’ll make money back and some - the trick is picking the right set. Was fortunate enough to pick up wall-e, original ecto- 1 and scooby doo sets when toys r us closed - all made money back and more. However have also got several sets that won’t make a thing but when kids old enough will be great fun to build with them which is a reward in itself.
Wouldn’t recommend buying Lego to make money but if you like a set and can afford 2 buy then buy 2 one to build and one to keep just in case

Well done, I have 2 X UCS tie fighters, 2 X slave 1's an ewok village and a marvel helicarrier. They are all big retired sets that have gone up very little in price. They take up so much room it is time to let them go, as investments they have done very little over the past few years even since retiring. Should have bought More gold Britannia's.

Ain't that the truth. The game is over once Joe Public is aware of and buys 'investment collectibles' like this. My Silver Jubilee mug and crown coin are still in the loft. They go for £3 on eBay. Back In '77 we all thought they'd be worth house prices now.

Secret is buying future collectible stuff - that nobody is buying now.

But will you get it if you order it from Harrods?
They are notorious for cancelling orders as its been reported before they have an out of date stock system. It basically allows you to keep ordering even though its OOS.
I've had 3 x lego orders cancelled through them in the past.
I want one but ain't buying it for 500 quid. The wife would have a fit.

Good idea except she hates Star Wars so wouldn't get away with that.

Good to hear this, let's keep Lego for playing and displaying rather than hoarding.

After nearly 12 months I managed to get a new Kwik e Mart kit for just under £170, buggered if I'd pay over RRP to line the pockets of your sorts!
I would buy a holiday than for this price. Found cheaper on aliexpress just saying

Anything "LEGO" on aliexpress from what I've seen is a knock-off. So what you saw on ali is probably a fake one.
Thanks ordered two
M ok
Someone said Lego is "only good for playing with and displaying". Like, they're a toy company, isn't that literally the point of Lego? I've bought plenty of large sets over the past year and spent more in that period than my lifetime, but I still open and build them because it is a hobby I enjoy, and to me, it just feels so counter-productive to not open any of them for the sake hoping for a better return on the investment when it's never guaranteed and they're taking up space anyway.

Even when the time comes and I want to move on and sell the stuff I opened and built, yes I won't gain as much profit and may make losses, but I did at least enjoy them and experienced the building process of them.
