Don't forget a bit of cashback from the two main culprits as well.

Switch tracks to help make your track even longer. No electricity ? works … Switch tracks to help make your track even longer. No electricity ? works with IR train sets #7897 and 7898, and can be combined with track sets #4515, 4519 and 4520

So not compatible with the Train set which is 7938 ?

Great set @ £59.98 - got it for my son a while back when it was on offer @ Amazon - he loves it. Fairly hefty on AAA batteries though.

Good deal

Any current retail track set that you buy now is compatible with this train. Older trains (9V and 4.5V if older still) will not work on modern track, although modern trains will work on the old track. The old track was electrified and the trains were not. New track isn't electrified, as the battery goes in the train instead and they have remote controls for controlling them.

Just ordered for instore collection after 5pm tomorrow. Was going to go with Amazon who have price matched but they've ran out of stock, and they are selling the station for more as well. I haven't heard many great things about Asda in terms of cashback actually being paid ever, or them always having stock of items they are selling. So this will be interesting. Reviews for the set seem to suggest that it was reasonable at full price, so at 40% off the RRP of 99.99 pretty good, and that to make the most of it long term it's an idea to get the station and extra track, which is also pretty cheap compared to RRP - from Asda the train, two packs of track and the station come in at a £1 under the RRP of the train itself !

Great price cheers

Looking good, checked email this morning and its dispatched for instore pickup this evening after 5

I just ordered 15 sets (3x max order of 5) at Asda and are ready to collect. Amazon price has just shot back up!

You're either building a massive lego train set or going to get stuck with a ton of lego you can barely make a profit on. If there were a massive demand for these then they would have gone within a day.

Collected mine fine yesterday, packaging was a bit none existent, basically all items just in what is basically a black bag !

Come Christmas there will be demand. And they have gone OOS again.

I just got there in time, now back up to £79.98, cooling added. I've already sold 7 to cover the 2 I donated to my local school for a raffle and will probably keep 2 for family Xmas presents and sell the rest on eBay for Xmas 2014. One tip... If you order this size set from Asda, order them in multiples of 3 then you get the 3 of them in a protective box which preserves the individual box inside.
