W.H.

Smiths have some polybags from previous newspaper giveaways. They are

in a bin marked as everything £1 but they are scanning at £0.00 with

"SUN LEGO".

They had a few Star Wars ones, and a City, Friends and Batman. Star Wars were TIE Fighter and a red and white spaceship.

How come others can post Glitch posts for amazon etc but this person gets third degree! Thought we were helping each other not judging. Be kinder.

Probably very store specific, which store was this in
The bin says everything £1, but scanning at £0. Means they made an error with their pricing. If you went to a manned till they would have corrected this. The decent thing would be to notify them of this. I have to agree with the others, you've shoplifted.
Don't understand the people commenting on here. The poster picked 20 up to purchase for party bags with the intention to pay for them. It's not their fault that they were mispriced on the system.

This site is full of "deals" for misspriced items. What makes this one any different?

Thread comments tidied - the comments that were removed were accusatory in nature and derailed the thread (other comments were also removed that requoted them) - this deal poster scanned multiple items for party bags and found they were free and decided to share the offer with other forum members and took the time to add a photo too. The community is here to share deals not discourage members from posting - instore offers included.

@winstonmanc thanks for sharing, if you could add the store location to the opening post that would be helpful in case the offer is store or region specific and if other members spot the same offer in their local WHSmiths it would be great if they could add a comment to the thread.

No. Sorry. I am no longer going to share deals and won't be updating the location here.
Wow the comments on here are embarassing. Anyone claiming you're greedy or have shoplifted is just jealous and would have done the exact same thing in your place, but would probably have gone back for the rest! Don't know why people have to be so bitter on this site

I think this deal may as well be deleted now then as no one can actually get the deal if we don’t know where it was...

I have spoken with the exact store that you bought these from. This is an error and there should’ve been a sticker on the back saying £1, hence this is not a real deal.

They all had a sticker on the back which meant they would scan at £1, these have been removed from the packs.

The stickers have been removed hence why they are selling at £1.
I'm not entirely sure it is legal for a shop to sell 'free' Lego provided by a supplier as part of a promotion at a profit. They should be given away or returned to the supplier. Since they are of such little value the give away would have been the least cost and hassle for both the supplier and the shop.

Beats what a lot of stores do any give the whole lot to someone 'in bed' with the manager. Amazing how many BL stores suspiciously have 100 of each promo the day after they are released. Not that I'm hating or anything, can't hate the hustle.
Some countries have laws about scanning errors in shop and offer a discount or free items if an item scans at the wrong price at the cash. It should be the store responsibility to ensure they properly tag their item not the customer's.
