So why vote cold? CURRENTLY this is the cheapest, unfortunately we don't have time machines to go back in time to get a cheaper price.

Also Tesco do not have it in stock and it is £99.99, plus not everyone has clubcard points to boost.

My wife embarassed me greatly the other day said in selfridges whilst I was choosing some starwars metal kits she exclaimed loudly, that she didn't like the 'dog one', I said what 'dog one'? She was only referring to the AT-AT!

That's handy and constructive. is it still that price now? Any chance you can give me some club card points to boost it also?

Toys r us have this at £80 in store and you get a £20 gift card to spend after Christmas on Lego.

Got this for £65 at Tesco with voucher then took it back as it's too small and overpriced even for Lego

That's good if you are getting anything between 26/12/14 till 16/01/15.

I'd guess many will have some Christmas money and it's during the January sales, so seemed great to me.

oh please

Why do people always respond with 'can I borrow your time machine'. Surely it's a good think that someone is pointing out that its been cheaper previously. I think it gives a good indication of whether the deal posted is a good deal or if you hold out for a bit longer the better deal may come along again.

Of course you can't account for clubcard points and various vouchers so that its not worth mentioning that (unless it triggers people to use their own clubcard points).

It seems that people are looking up their Xmas shopping list and putting it on Hot UK deals. Not everything is a deal if its below RRP and the cheapest on a particular day!

No one is saying don't mention it but when people vote cold because they bought it cheaper weeks or even months ago is wrong. if the item is currently the cheapest and it is below RRP the it would make it a deal and worth posting. Thats the point of HUKD

Schlanders has hit the nail on the head why we mention previous lower prices. A lot of Lego is permanently discounted, something that's only started in the last couple of years, so someone may post the current cheapest below RRP but it's the normal price you can pick it up for and the real deal comes with a much higher discount. Lego increased rrp prices by 20% overnight in 2013, hence retailers able to discount 25% on a regular basis without a second thought.

The deals often cycle, so if it was on offer a month ago, it could well be again in a short while - with the number of big retailers selling Lego, you can get a lot of sets that are almost always on sale below their RRP.

If you look regularly, a lot of Lego is heavily discounted at new line time. I buy a lot of City and Star Wars for my boys and nephews, deals on City can be 80% discount but you have to be quick, Star Wars less but sometimes 60%-70%.

I don't vote cold just because it was cheaper before, but the discount has to generally be more than 25%-30% to be a deal - there are exceptions, some Lego sets are rarely discounted so a 5%-10% discount may be amazing, or sometimes a free gift with the purchase is worth more to some than others.
