OK still a bit pricey but given its going for over £300 everywhere else this is a pretty great price. Smyths 20% off deal ends on Monday so get it for this great price while you can.

haven't rated but WTF, £220 for LEGO.

It is the best deal out there for this but agreed...£220 for LEGO.,...???..!! You must have more money than sense to buy this!

Got this but my son still hasn't built it....
Maybe this winter we'll do it.

it's mainly collectors like myself who'd get this. I have it still sealed! LOL though will one day build & play with it.
compared to smaller sets it'll probably be better price per brick. this IS a hot price for this set.
I had the largest set you can buy, a 5000 price millennium falcon. cost me £300 new. 2 years later solidity used for £900! if sealed you'd be talking nearer £2000!

Agree with this, but hate to point it out but Taj Mahal is now the largest set!

shame they don't sell the red five x-wing collectors edition. would love to find a deal on that set. good price for this

Won't let you checkout, must be out of stock online.:(

got one

It's not £300 through any retail channels in the UK, it's £275 and has been for a long time, this offer just has the standard 20% off this weekend. I wonder whether every Lego set is going to be posted with the Smyth discount. Doubt this will make a good investment piece like the UCS Millenium Falcon - this set has been out a very long time, people have been buying these up for the last few years expecting it to be discontinued.

I have one of these and it makes for an amazing display piece, lots of well represented Deathstar key scenes from both Episode IV and VI. Figure on a good 15-20 hours build time.

A few of these in stock at Wallsend Newcastle branch yesterday as well as a few other sets stickered at below web prices prior to the application of the 20% discount, including the new AT-TE which was stickered at £65 and not £78.

It's a hell of a lot of Lego for the money and if you ever get bored of it, someone will buy it for at least whet you paid for it if it ever gets discontinued, maybe they'll give you 3/4 of purchase price if it doesn't (assuming it is complete and looked after) . How many toys hold value like that?

More of a serious collector item. Nice piece, but I wonder how big a proper scale version would be.8)

Jeez, that's a lot to spend for him to not build it.

I didn't realise that there were £1000+ Lego sets.

£1900?? It doesn't even look that big!

Tempting at £3199!

I bought few bits last night as 20% off sometimes doesn't let you check out but go to basket again and start again then it works... If it's out of stock it won't go in basket it flashes up in yellow across top of screen I tried to get loads of monster high last night but was out of stock

I know this is a decent price for this set, so it is a hot deal, but I don't think it's ever going to be as good an investment as a lot of the other UCS sets.

The Falcon looks brilliant as a model, and has the advantage of being in the correct scale for minifigs. The Star Destroyer also looked brilliant, as did the AT-AT (in scale again too) but this is designed like a playset for kids instead of an accurate model for us adults with too much disposable income.

Nothing wrong with spending £300 on Lego if that's what your hobby is.

also, 5% tcb on smyths at the mo

Out Of Stock for GB - Ireland only i think

Not in stock .... tried several times to get this into the basket but always says out of stock ... shame because my son wants this as his main present for Christmas

Tell me about it. Kids these days....I would have given my right leg to have something like this when I was a kid.

This used to be a Lego Store exclusive, surprised to see it in Smyths. I got my Death Star a few years ago for the RRP of £275 - yes it's expensive, but it's an awesome set, everyone who's seen it is impressed. Bargain at £220.

But...but...just think of the dust!

THE DUUUUUST!!!!

oO

Hey at least when this death star gets blown up you can rebuild it (just keep the rebels away from the exhaust port!)

Heated

Spending over £200 on a child present is far too much.

Out of stock

Sound advice for any situation!

You got a minifig scale UCS AT-AT? There is no official Lego released one, although there are a few good MOCs. The system sets (including the motorised 10178 that I have) are less than half size of a true minifig scale AT-AT.

The UCS MF, Executor SSD and IS are very good display pieces (have them all).

If you are torn between Death Star and Executor SSD, I would buy the SSD if you can't buy both - if it goes to schedule then the SSD will be phased out before the end of this year.

For all those saying out of stock - worth a call to your local branch - mine had a few Death Stars in yesterday.

My local branch is miles away ... would spend more on fuel than I am saving on the items...

Ordered a couple of bits online and was happy but most of the stuff is out of stock for delivery to GB....

Shame but glad I got some bits sorted for christmas and got a huge discount with Very also recently with 20% off ... so really pleased

Just come from the charlton store and they had two left. A £55 saving for lego is brilliant..

purchased on Friday at this price from smyths and put away as kids Christmas pressie. Seriously how many toys can you buy that you know you can sell for in a few years for more than you purchased for, even used. They sell for more than this, used on ebay.
People laugh at the price, but look at ipads etc people buy for twice this, and two years later a used ipad is worthless.

Got it for my boy on Friday, great price. We're all sold on Saturday when I was back in

Wow..Lego is hardly childs play prices, I am puzzled then why they even created Lego Technics when more simplistic Lego costs this price!

LEGO in general is way too pricey these days, no heat from me because for what it is it's still too expensive.
Won't vote cold though, I'm sure it's still the cheapest around for this.
