'investing' in lego after all these re-releases? no chance!
You could fly to India at that price and see it with your own eyes.

Lepin is actually better quality. LEGO's colours are so inconsistent now, …Lepin is actually better quality. LEGO's colours are so inconsistent now, but Lepin's are perfect

I guess they can spend a bit more on quality dyes given all the savings they make not doing and R&D/product development
Is this a joke ? Presumably for that price I can live in it once built ?

My thoughts exactly but good news for fans wanting it just to build I think I’ll wait and get the Diner in January

Do you still get double points if it’s not shipped until the end of December? Because that combined with Quidco is a decent return.
After the complete cock up with the Millennium Falcon re-release and getting an email advising my VIP points were going to expire, I'm strongly considering trying out Lepin. The Taj model is one I'd have bought in the past but Lego have really lost my brand confidence/loyalty.
I honestly wasn't that impressed with it when I saw it built in the Lego Shop recently. It's big with a huge brick count, but looked a bit boring and repetitive to build and didn't blow me away as the finished article. Still, better than all the recent Ebay prices if you want one. A bit of a blow for all the people with one in the cupboard who hoped to make thousands (and even worse for the people who've paid thousands.....)
eBay prices were slashed before this was re-released. Oddly, this has one extra piece than the original!!

Whenever I've back-ordered something I've always got whatever promotion was running at the time of ordering, even if it's finished

I believe the extra ‘piece’ is the inclusion of the brick separator tool
there was stock in store at the London Westfield today

Return flights from London to New Delhi for £301 return. Catch the Taj Express to Agra. Auto-rickshaw to the Taj itself.

I don’t agree... I’ve had Lepin blocks that have been badly scratched, discoloured, not moulder properly and it just doesn’t click together so well. Lepin is better value for money though if you build what you buy (like I do). That’s why I’ve just bought the Ghostbusters fire house and I’ll be buying the Lepin UCS Millennium Falcon instead of the rip off lego version
£299!!!! Is the LEGO made of Marble?
Cold. Its a few £ worth of injection moulded plastic. Lego prices have been spiralling upwards and are now really poor value for money.
This is what happens when the upper class people get on hukd!!

Lol
Too dear
Guys! Wait until after Christmas! This is old stock, there is a new version coming out with a Starbucks inside..
Rather just 3D print it myself after getting the 3D CAD files of it.
Lego got greedy again and now going out of fashion for the masses. Reinvent themselves yet again time but they have plenty money in the bank now. When people
were buying lego as investments it says it all about bubbles
termite1 h, 22 m ago

Adults playing with childrens toys is pathetic.

So are people who feel the need to bring others down for no reason.
Or just buy the Lepin version for a mere £142 (including 7 day DHL & customs) - leaving you a whopping £150 to spúnk on Starbucks pumpkin spiced lattes

These days, "investing" in Lego is for losers and the bubble has well and truly burst.

In my experience Lepin is obviously a lot cheaper than Lego but the quality of the brick moulding is inferior to the ususally superb quality of authentic Lego. However for models such as this, a slightly lower build quality probably doesn't matter much. It may matter with the Technic models when precision gear wheels etc have to move. (I suspect I will be finding out in a month or two when I decide to risk it.)
I’ve seen different Lego sets for much cheaper than this. Cold
Book a ticket and go see it for this price how ridiculous

The extra piece is an orange brick separator.

No they aren't. Not any more. And I doubt this one will ever go close to that.

Personally, I wouldn't touch "Lepin" with a vary long barge pole.

The one pictured doesn't;t even sit straight.

By the same token, would you purchase cheap "copied" designer T-shirt for the half price where the genuine article costs £50, when the base t-shirt of the counterfeit t-shirt is probably just an inferior quality £5.00 t-shirt with original design printed onto it?

So basically £25 for a £5 t-shirt?

I've seen it too and was VERY disappointed.Even the narrow waterway that leads up to the Taj Mahal is strewn with rubbish. Even worse are the pickpockets and begging kids. I couldn't get away quick enough!
