Just a word of warning.

My son built one a couple of months back and apparently the bags aren't numbered making it a bit more difficult, but at least it kept him busy for longer i suppose

Works if you can find a store with it in stock.
Good price OP. It's irritating that there is "no stock" anywhere near me on Argos Ebay C&C, but Argos main website I can click and collect at £80 from every single store near me.

Oh yes once I selected the store it allowed the voucher. Cheers!
Uttoxeter has stock.
Someone can have mine for £60 no box though.
I will never buy Lego from Argos again! The people behind the counters admit that they just chuck the item in the cages to move them around the stores and hence the boxes get damaged! No good for a serious Lego collector and investor!

Exactly! When I bought the £65 offer in August the box was smashed up but as it was the last one in stock anywhere near time I ended up accepting it (and the £5 voucher too!). My son won’t mind as he’ll build it straightaway and the box will be recycled.

But for the average person who buys to build it then it doesn't really matter if it's got a tiny mark on the box.

let's be honest it is designed to be built, not collected and used as an investment,so i can fully understand why the Argos staff don't handle it with white gloves for the odd person who wants to buy it to invest.

Sorry but these are basically kids toys and you getting a cob on because they aren't treated like works of art is just stupid, this is Argos we are talking about NOT Sotheby's!

Maybe invest in fine wine, artwork or luxury cars if you are that bothered how they are transported around and not things designed to be built and played with by kids / people who enjoy building lego.

I quite agree. And later I'll come round and key your car because hey, cars are designed to be driven from A to B, not paraded about in poncy car display shows!

But seriously, after I've built them, a good box ensures a top second hand value on eBay. And I need the top price otherwise I can't afford the next model to build.

My car gets driven from A to B AND gets put on display but i wouldn't complain if it was sold to me in a box and you keyed that, and that's what we are talking about, the packaging and not the actual item it is protecting,so not really the same.

Tell me if I'm wrong but don't you have to damage the box to get to the lego? so i can't see why if it had a little mark on the box from Argos that it would make that much difference in selling it on ebay once you've finished with it.

Yep I was going from bag to bag to bag for bits for some steps. Not even logically bagged either. Still enjoyed it though.

I love looking for the pieces, this is part of the fun. I would totally not mind even if it all come in one packet.

Can’t wait to pick mine up and start building. Been looking at this for a while now so purchased while the price was low

Unfortunately for collectors, the box very much is "part of the item". Just like it is for model car collectors or video game collectors.
You do have to damage the box to open it, although this can be mitigated. Ease open just one end, carefully press out any perforations, and cut the sellotape rather than pulling it off.
I'll agree that a "little mark" will make no difference to a final eBay price, although a previous poster did mention the box being "smashed up" - and that would make a difference.
What annoys me though is having to find a box to put the Lego box in. Complete pain.
So while I agree that many people buying this won't care about the box, for others it's definitely a factor that Argos don't look after them.
Cheers just ordered and picked up
Why is it expired. Just checked and I can still get the same price
