heat added thanks op,unfortunately might be voted cold by the xbox ps4 mob.

You'll struggle to fit that battery box in most trains, it's too tall. There is a AAA one which is suited to trains.

When buying the cheap trains from Tesco at the weekend, should have grabbed 8293 at £16.07! oO

Yep, had two in my basket but procrastinated whilst buying other stuff! They went OOS quickly.
Did the same with a few sets when they accidentally doubled up on the 1/3rd off AND 10,000 points! Will teach me next time :-)

LOL... This does not fit LEGO trains! You need the 88002 with all the bits! This is for Technic only and only those that have the capability. Cooling added.

Umm. This fits emerald express, however I digress.
The LIGHTS do fit Lego trains with a bit of playing...connections are the same. besides, if you were going to add power functions motor to a train, proper HUKD'ers would just buy the 600051 high speed train at £70 currently (61 at Tesco previously) as we all know the bits cost £45 from Lego, so the train represents about £20 additional outlay for £30 of track and loads of extra bits ...can we dislike comments?

Who has an opened Emerald Express these days? Most are in the hands of greedy resellers!

I parted out a 60051 (never heard of 600051), used the PF parts and then sold the other bits separately for over £75 on eBay which ain't bad after paying "only" £42.33 (Tesco 3-for-2) for the entire 60051 set. It worked a treat in the Winter Holiday Train that is running around my Xmas tree right now... the cats love it! However, it does need a little weight added for extra grip.
