These exclusive sets rarely go on sale, so £59.99 is a great deal.

Dunno, I'm a lifelong Lego fan but the more I see the newer sets, the more they just look like they designed a model of something, then designed new bricks to build that model..

Guess it has mass market appeal but I was always more into this type of thing (at about 9 yrs)

Thanks @goldenatlas . I added 'Lego' to the title; handy for searching

I totally agree, Lego has lost a lot of its own imagination. I never really liked licensed sets, only in house designs but even then they aren't using bricks to make a design, they are getting the design and then making the bricks!
I've just built this set with my daughter and really enjoyed it. Quite a few 'wow, that's clever' moments and the finished car looks great, especially next to the Lego Campervan.

Really good value at this price. Remember to sign up for the John Lewis loyalty card before buying for a possible free tea, cake and £5 voucher from next purchased (that's was I received after my first spend after signing up).

I think you're right and because of that the Lego company are losing their way (again). Nonetheless this is an excellent model and I'd buy it at this price if I hadn't already bought it for more. No steering on the wheels though - same on the VW camper (which is an even better model).

I have that exact same set built in the next room.
I would buy this, but to me, it just looks a little "off"? I think it's the windscreen that's ruining it for me

Defo recommend the camper van though, its a long build but worth it for sure
That windscreen makes the whole thing look like a 2CV....bobbins

Different ranges of lego serve different purposes. This looks like a model because that's exactly what it is. Lego technic is about engineering. You're comparing chalk and cheese.

I wondered where Ariel got their inspiration for the Atom.
That's definitely a 2cv....

The mini cooper looks more like a mini moke, but the camper is about right...

I can't believe that there's no steering at this price either...

Merchandising is over the top and has been for years, make some crud, sell for £5, add another logo, sell for £15....

I think this is very unfair statement. Out of 1167 parts in this set only 5 or 6 are exclusively in this set. The rest can be found in different sets.

Definitely agree. I was going to get this for my wife as she loves beetles and has a ‘66 in the garage. But she said it is too square in the windscreen area. Too upright
