As far as I know they are still treated as separate parts of the LEGO Group.

garethsmith72

Nope Lego Family purchased Merlin so all same people ...

MrBobsy

The Discovery Centres are owned and run by Merlin Entertainment, so are separate entities from the official LEGO shop. That's why they have their own exclusive sets. I discovered this when trying to use a LEGO Shop gift card at a Discovery Centre and was told I couldn't use it as they were a different company.

minifig290

I believe its been set up to sell stock that would otherwise had been sat collecting dust, though I don't know why they didn't just sell the exclusives on the official LEGO Shop.

Back in stock: https://shop.legoland.co.uk/collections/legoland%C2%AE They’ve been a bit cheeky though - there’s the new firefighter set, and to get the £25 off you have to buy all 5 not all 4 now!

Davidlesley

That’s not good value for Lego non-licenced sets. its subpar value and nowhere near “fantastic”. as for the Park as people have said it should be far cheaper, given that other Lego lands in the world sell it for a far lower RRP. £90 would be about right Sometimes it feels as though the Lego marketing lurk on here printing every single Lego deal

sammy_zammy

The park is 1336 pieces and that includes several large pieces (e.g track) and tons of minifigs. It is also a very large volume set. So £130 ain't bad. Meanwhile, the whole deal, is 1975 pieces for £150, which is fantastic. To each their own.

Davidlesley

All the sets seem a bit overpriced for what they are. but the big park set is a rip off so it’s cooling from me

mrlaurelshat

I mean not keen. What a moron.

gholt

"Adults MUST be accompanied by a child"! At £10 and as Im in Birmingham this wk end I was going to go just to see the models! May be its just rides etc for kids!? ;-(

Chickedy

Hi Op, just added some additional information to your post as the deal is for the Lego Centre's 'birthday' and not a person's birthday.

Sorry I posted wrong link. Should work now.

How does this offer work with prebooking?

Smeeble

I wonder what they class as fancy dress, can I just stick a witches hat on her and hope for the best XD

fzurro

Cool Thanks ill keep an eye out

Imaunicorn

I took my daughter in the holidays. Used a bogof voucher so wasn't too bad. I agree though that it's overpriced for what you actually get! Have a look out for the Merlin vouchers :)

fzurro

Birmingham one is too new. They'll milk the novelty as much as they can. I find the prices very expensive for what it is TBH, waiting for a bit to go with the kids

Lego land Manchester is shocking. Kids were fighting parents didn't give a toss it was like a zoo. I took my family and came out after 30mims

brummie02

if you don't want the chaperone ticket it is 49 for adult and 39 for kids but the chaperone ticket allows any adult to take the child so it is an adult pass that can be transferred to any adult who is accompanying the child. Hope this makes sense

Snookums

So for an adult with one child it would be £100? or does the chaperone ticket cover an adult and child?

brummie02

I purchased directly from LDC

brummie02

I didn't know about them either and they were not advertised anywhere but I was told that this is part of the deal

I agree they are good value for money, been looking at national trust memberships. I have a 3 year old in tow so I don't think quarry bank mill will be of interest to him just yet, or not any more interesting than Liverpool world museum, Manchester museum, MOSI, Imperial War museum which are free (and quite frankly awesome!).

Pamela1977uk

I would agree with these reviews. There was hardly anything entertain my 3 half year old who spent most of the time looking at the Lego displays although these was disappointing too. Was not allowed on the cars to ride. And I was surprised to see the soft play area in the middle of the room. Could have paid £4 for the family to go to our local soft play which is better. As for the Sea life was round in ten minutes spent more time yet again in the soft play area.

deleted88959

Off the top of my head, how about Quarry Bank Mill at £36.00 per family. Or join the National Trust for under £9 per family per month and get in loads of places. Really, there are lots of places that are better value than these two. They're poor value when looked at standalone and poor value when compared to other places.

SpoonyBoy

That's completely inaccurate. At £10 per person per attraction this is great value for money. Anyone who thinks it's not worth that much please post some sub £10 ideas/activities/attractions so I can do them as well. Don't forget if you have Tesco clubcard points you can exchange £5 worth of vouchers for a 1 day admission to lego discovery center. http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=4604&%20bci=4294967294|Days%20Out*4294960264|North%20West

Theme parks get busy - get over it! go early or late in the day with a merlin pass and you can walk onto any ride with no queues In the middle of the day, when everyone is lining up for the marquee rides - have a picnic (don't buy the expensive and poor quality restaurant food) or walk around the scenic bit - you cant ride rides all day anyway. I love my merlin pass and so do the kids!

It looks like they've done it up a bit since we last went! Kids need to be 4 years old to go on the Lego City ride pictured above though, it's not for toddlers. :)

As a 39yr old who was brought up on lego, went to denmark lego land at 10yrs and has been to lego windsor I can honestly say this glorified soft play centre is a huge disappointment. Went a few years ago using tesco vouchers and was still felt short changed.

This deal still on anywhere?

brummie02

they have the same offer at the london eye and chessington as i was there last week. i was a little disheartened as paid a bit more than this through the capital fm offer but hey some of it was to charity so hey ho. Great value for money so far and have only used it twice but will probably be getting most of the use at the discovery centre as it is the closest one to me!

hanksy

This is for collecting when there, so it may be different on website.

neilc

Sounds good, on the website it still says £72+VAT.
