Lemony Snicket's world famous saga about the charming, intelligent and grossly unlucky Baudelaire orphans continues to alarm and depress its ever-growing number of distressed fans! Here, the entire series - thirteen full length novels on 53 CDs - is read by Tim Curry, adding an even more dastardly and evil dimension to this already miserable tale. Lemony Snicket advises, "if you may be more comfortable getting a good night's sleep, I suggest you should probably choose some other CDs to save yourself from a heapful of horror and woe". This unique audio collection comes in a handy travel tin so you can take your sorrows with you, wherever you go.

Set titles and authors :
The Bad Beginning * The Reptile Room * The Wide Window * The Miserable Mill * The Austere Academy * The Ersatz Elevator * The Vile Village * The Grim Grotto * The Hostile Hospital * The Carniverous Carnival * The Slippery Slope * The Penultimate Peril *The End

A great price for a fantastic set of CD's. Lasting over 58 hours, so if you have a really long journey planned for Christmas, problem solved! Plenty of free delivery codes available on here and 5% quidco as well so even better value for money. We have used the Book People many times and the service and delivery is always first class.

Still hot deal even second time around

53 Cds!?!

This Is Madness!

Yup I got this a month or so ago when it was posted last time and it's good value for money.

Couple of things to note: Tim Curry doesn't read books 3, 4 and 5; Daniel Handler (the author) does, in character as Lemony Snicket. He doesn't do a bad job but not a patch on Tim Curry. Also the packaging is infuriating for getting the first and last 4 or 5 CDs back in (they come out easier than they go back in.) However these 2 minor points shouldn't put you off buying these for a son/daughter/niece/nephew or yourself!

LOL! Use EZ-CD or similar to turn them into little variable-bit-rate MP3s (high-bit-rate a waste for non-music) and put them on an MP3 player. Mono makes them even smaller

hehe, I think I'd skip that step and just download them, then send the author a £20 note in the post. ;> miss out the middleman and save a good few hours ripping and encoding.. =]

I have so many audio books and so little time!!!!!!!!

Don't really see the point in kids audio books. They learn nothing.

Poor grammar my friend ^ ^ ^

Possibly a good audio book would help you improve this? Can I suggest Jeeves & Wooster ;-)

I bought these a week or so ago and they arrived fairly quickly. hidden away for Christmas for my 13 year old daugther. As a mum "talking books" have been a life saver on long journeys. The children listen when they can't read in the car (car sickness etc). And as for not learning from them, my very bright, but dyslexic 17 year old got through his gcse English with the help of audio tapes/cds from the library (He got a b!). Ripped to mp3, they take them everywhere with them.So a good deal.
