You're looking at a brand new 15.6" Windows 10 laptop with 4gb ram and a DVD writer for £200, you shall not go wrong.
Might buy this as a desktop replacement and hook up to a monitor and external keyboard.
Thanks bb8, great find! Ordered.
swap the hard drive for an SSD and you've got a great cheap laptop!
Bought one of these a month ago from Tesco for £199. Sound is dire - only 1 speaker and extremely quiet and tinny. Found it wasn't usable - returned next day - faultless returns process. Very poor design from Lenovo. The on-off button is hard work also as commented above but I could have lived with that.

FYI on a Tesco review:

"you also need to be aware there is only ONE slot for the RAM so the 4GB stick will have to be removed if you intend to upgrade."

You say that but I have an HP 250 G something at work with a monitor hooked up to the vga and then a USB monitor extender thing for my second monitor, so I have a 3 screen setup. I do a lot of heavy excel work and inefficient accounting package running all the time and have never been slowed down because of the extra monitors
Picked up the refurbed 8GB/1TB model from Argos eBay the other week for £180. I'd say it's a more than capable machine tbh, yes an SSD might improve performance but in all honesty it didn't seem to be lacking anyway. Actually runs Sims 4 quite well too considering it's integrated graphics.

Who cares about a DVD writer? What a waste of space! Neither my PC nor my laptop has a disk drive. You can buy a USB DVD writer for next to nothing if you really need one.

This laptop has few of the features you'd actually want, but inflates the price by adding in cheap nonsense like that so that people like you can say it's still a good deal. "Oh it runs like crap but at least I can burn DVDs"? Common sense please.

You talk about common sense but you don't even know that DVD writers can also play DVD's, for those people who are not miserable of course.

Ignore him, this will cope with an external screen no problem what so ever.

The i5 version of this would not be worth the money as, like this i3, will be the U low power version. Hardly any performance difference.

To be fair, I think the majority of people do not use CDs and DVDs anymore. Thats why the manufacturers are going down that route. Even car stereos are getting sold without CD slots, its the way its going these days.

I don't think there's anything worse than PC/Laptop threads for people posting misinformed nonsense....
I bought this the other week when it was £179.99 off the Argos ebay store. It was a refurb but in perfect condition as with most. It's the exact same model and processor but had 8gb ram and 1tb harddrive.

The laptop itself is good for general internet usage (this is all I use it for really). Build quality is good. Keys on the keyboard spaced out and the trackpad has a little bit of friction to it which is good if you don't like the smooth feel. Also came with very limited bloatware at all, no issues connecting to the wifi and seems to run quite well.

The battery does discharge quite quickly even with screen brightness on 75% (I'd say about 2-3 hours) but for the price, a really good laptop.
