Great little laptop perfect for traveling or uni.

Conservative spec but not bad for the price.

If you trade in an old laptop you get £50 off which makes it £279 effectively.

4gb ramWhat is this?We are not in 2012 anymore

It's a (recentish) i3, with FullHD screen and an (albeit small) SSD for just £329, what did you expect? Some people will never be happy!
This has been this price since December (posted on here at least twice). Unbelievable how Currys get away with these 'sale' promotions.

Because even in 2018, for most people, more memory will just mean a higher price for exactly the same user experience. If memory was free I could see your argument.

Nice spec? Are you kidding me? This sucks! This is lower than minimum! …Nice spec? Are you kidding me? This sucks! This is lower than minimum! Back in 2017, minimum recommended amounts by of ram was 8GB and now it’s 16GB. Dual core i3 is good by to be painfully slow and don’t even get me started on the 128GB SSD. After windows installation, caching, the big arse pagefilesys, you’ll be lucky to have 60-70GB left, of which you can only use 40GB, Windows starts to slow down and crash when it drops below 20GB and slows down when its drive drops below 10GB as it would have no place to dump, so shut downs and restarts will take forever! So next time, how about you don’t give your opinion when you don’t have a clue what you are talking about!?COLD!!!!

What madness? What special exclusive computer knowledge are you privy to that offers some unique insight into this deal?

Also, my sister got one of these a couple of months ago for £20 more. Perfectly good laptop for everyday productivity.

I've got a mini HP (11.6inch) laptop that works perfectly, but one of its hinges has come off. Does anyone know if that would still be eligible for trading in?

All depends on how easy it is to expand it (I haven't looked). Usually it is cheaper to just buy additional RAM after purchasing the laptop than to buy it already included with 8GB or more.

Having the SSD will help a lot even if it is on the small side, but better than having a 1TB 5400RPM HDD.

I can see this as cheap portable laptop for a student, there are not that many (cheap) options at 14"

Bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. Traded in an old i3 that was just under 7 years old and got a £59 voucher to use on another laptop so used it on this. It’s great for the price and I believe you can fit an additional 2.5” disk in it.

Expect to be met with either utter silence or a link to some weird brand from Banggood or some other Chinese retailer.

This is excellent for the price... and always good for a laugh to see that there are some people that will never be pleased... it's not Full HD, it's not 4K, it's not 16GB ram, it's too expensive, it's too cheap, it's too Lenovoy, it's not an Apple, it's an Apple.

My god if this was £10 you'd still get cold votes from some people

16GB might be recommended for a serious gaming pc. 4GB is though usable in this laptop for general use.

Not everyone is keen on Currys
Bought one for my son last month, upgraded it to 8gb, it's only got a single RAM slot, so I have a spare 4gb stick. Opening it up feels a little precarious, the base is made of quite a soft plastic. The screen is full hd, there's a spare sata hdd slot, the performance is perfectly acceptable, copes with day-to-day multi-tasking. Screen has really good viewing angles and thin bezels, touchpad is responsive and supports gestures. Keyboard is acceptable, not overly spongy and the whole system is super light.
I bought this a couple of weeks back k and I'm very happy. It truly flies for everything I need it to do (academic work and browsing).
Easy enough to upgrade and the screen is great for the price.

Is this laptop better ? http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7501533

Better RAM and bigger screen but not Full HD.

Aesthetically, this 320s is also slimmer and has a much thinner bezel around the screen.

Specs are same or worse apart from RAM and price is £30 more. Depends How much you value RAM? Can't you just close some tabs or install more?
