No...the laptop is £479... they will add a £100 credit to the account which makes the laptop £379... you can not withdraw that £100

I'd like to recommend this for £449

Good spot...personally not for me as SSD is mandatory for me....but as you say it has the discrete GPU

It may carry the Nvidia brand but it's only marginally quicker than the onboard GPU (Intel 520). As soon as you start gaming both fall flat on their faces.

You pay £379 for the laptop provided you follow the instructions to get the £100 credit.

Seems expensive considering a premium laptop would only be £100 or so extra. Decent if you shop at Very I suppose.

I had a look at the cheap 15" 510 earlier today (same body as the one you linked) and I found the quality quite shocking. I noticed cheap build materials and floppy screen before I walked out. I was not expecting aluminium build or anything like that but I really couldn't recommend it even at £299.

I'll check this 14" 510s tomorrow. Hopefully it's better.

That's why Lenovo are so cheap. People think they're just magically £100-200 cheaper than the rest with no draw backs - the draw backs is the really poor build quality.

I posted a deal on an IdeaPad 500 at Very with the previous £100 cashback deal from Very and bought it too a month or two ago.

Bad idea.....VERY bad idea. Avoid. Poor quality laptops combined with surreally poor customer service do not make for a good time.

It's not just Lenovo though is it? All laptops in the sub £500 range are cheap feeling. Features include flexible screens and keyboards.

I just went to see the 14" 510s and its got miles better quality. The screen doesn't bent anywhere near as much as the bigger 510 and just feels more solid overall.

You can get a Zenbook for an extra £20. It's a non-starter in terms of competition. Look at the quality of a Zen compared to most Lenovo laptops.

On an Amazon. amazon.co.uk/ASU…1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1479487818&sr=1-2&keywords=zenbook

It's not on sale (Been that price for a month, just like most "black friday sales")

i3 (Barely weaker than the i5, not a biggy for just web browsing) and 4GB of ram are the weak points.

All depends on what you need it for and when, if ever, you plan to buy a replacement. Some people will buy a new budget laptop every year or 2 when their kid breaks it something, which is just pointless. Buy cheap, buy twice. Personally decided to just pay up and get a £700 laptop.

zenbook is £120 extra, not £20, also 13.3 inch screen. apples n' pears...!

Zenbook is also at Currys and John Lewis (with 2yr warranty) at £499.99. Over a Lenovo any day of the week for me.

Yes - fair point- with bigger SSD. I was going on this deal. But 'horse for courses'.

Unfortunately, going by your posts, you didn't have a time with Lenovo/Very. So, it's understandable.

I also had a look at them in store. I wouldn't say the 510s is that much sturdier than the 510 - As it's smaller, there's less travel between all the joints and components. Still made with the same plastics, materials. The keyboard flexed on just about every machine in the shop - including a £750 HP Envy one. And you could see the screen ripple/blobbing effect if you pressed the lid, on most of them. Sad to say it's how things are made these days. Not 'cheap' cost wise for most people, but manufacturers would still prefer you throw it away and buy the next thing to come out.

It's 20. The amount you pay, regardless of "credit" is £480. You're not paying £383, you're paying £480. You then have £100 to spend in Very and only Very. You don't get "money" back. You get credit. So yes, it is £20.

Aw, come on. Why do you think this deal was posted, then? (_;)

Just re-read your post - it's actually wrong. You can buy on BNPL - you don't have to pay it off until end of the BNPL period - £100 will be put in before said end period. You then pay the balance off. Not true at all to say you get the £100 after. I'm not going to explain it all here - check the site out. Cost will be £383

I think I'm set on picking up the Zenbook UX305 for £600.
Aluminium body. Beautiful 1800p IPS screen. Low wattage cpu.

Now hopefully a deal will pop up sometime soon

This is true, it's not credit to spend at Very but credit off your balance. I sent my laptop back to Very before they applied it but based on everything else they got wrong on my order (and by that I mean they got EVERYTHING wrong!) I would honestly advise people to expect problems with the credit being applied (DEFINITELY take screen dumps to supply as evidence)

Quite a slow CPU though, which is how the Laptop has such good battery. Makes a sacrifice that way.

You probably won't notice it much though, not unless you've got like 20 chrome tabs open or something.

I suppose so. It's on par with an i3u so not too bad but uses a lot less power.
Anything cpu intensive can be done on my X99 gaming rig I probably should have mentioned that before.

hi I ordered on Thursday evening and I've had a very account for years. As long as you have a credit account with them you can select buy now pay later. 12m interest free. I ordered for my daughters Christmas. perfect machine for Web browsing, YouTube and kids flash games you can't play on Apple/ android devices.

This is a cracking offer, and exactly what I was looking for my daughter's Christmas. Just ordered one. Went with the white/silver version. I was a bit confused about the £100 credit, like others, but yeah actually paying £383.

A 6th gen i5 with 1080p IPS screen, SSD and 8Gb for under my budget of £400 is perfect. Couldn't get close elsewhere. She preferred the 14" screen too.

Wondering the quality of the laptops? A good 1hr documentary on the hardware silicon valley of China and how the quality is not as bad as you may think.
