sorry if there are any mistakes on this first time I've posted. been looking for cheap tablet for a while and at £99 this looks like a good deal if you don't mind it in white. The other colours are still priced at £129.95

Cheers mate. I'll try and sort it when I get a chance.

It's not got a HDMI port I found these specs

I have one and for £100, it's a great deal in my opinion. I've had no issues with it except that I don't personally like the launcher (there is no app menu, and icons aren't arranged in any particular order), but it can easily be solved by installing an alternative launcher from the play store

I had one of these. Very competent tablet with excellent battery life. I have since bought the Intel powered S8-50, and have to say compared to the A8-50, the S8 gets much warmer and has noticeably worse battery life. The S8 will throw up better benchmark scores but real world usage, many people probably wouldn't notice (due in part to the lower resolution screen on the A8).

However you will find yourself reaching for the wall outlet more with the S8, mine having to be recharged every two to three days whereas I could go nearly a week on the A8 between charges (both were mainly used as my pre-bedtime browser/media player, sometimes with white noise generators on timers to help me drift off to sleep)

The screen is sharper on the S8 and has dual front facing speakers, whereas on the A8, I think only the 3G version has dual front facing speakers, the WIFI model has a single speaker. They cut the bezel down on the S8 but that can mean you have less space to hold it without interfering with the screen if you want to grip it single handed.

Overall, the A8 would probably be my choice on the strength of its value and battery life.

edit: Have to say a recent S8 update from Lenovo had them messing about with the display settings in a bad way, and the screen looks about the same as the A8 now. There is also a strange crowding of menus and certain UI elements. They modified the DPI settings I suspect. So if for some reason your S8 looks a little off putting, that's probably why. Hopefully they will update their update but there's no guaruntee they will fix it. The adventurous can try rooting and modifying the DPI settings but I haven't tried this as some manufacturers will void your warranty.

Google now launcher sorted that on mine.

Edit: worked on my s8.

I had an A8 and then bought an S8 because I preferred the screen and size of the S8.
However, I now regret selling my A8 - because the battery life was significantly better on the A8. I could get a full week of commute video watching on a single charge.
With the S8 I am lucky if I get to Wednesday evening before a recharge.

I've been looking at affordable tablets with good reviews and from what I looked at this was the best one.

Can anyone recommend a decent cover/case for this?
