*update - Have added a few more goodies that i've scoped out*

Very sleek looking machine. If you're after a 4K display, strong CPU which is touch screen, this model is super nice. Just watched a video on it and tbh it's beautiful (sorry haha) It does have the fingerprint reader, which actually really like and a fair bit of storage at 512GB,

Compared to say... the Surface Pro 5, I think you get more bang for your buck here by a fair old way. Had a good scout about for something similar in price, the closest I have seen is £1399.95 and that's with a smaller SSD (256GB) I don't think we'll see any lower on it over black Friday on a 512GB version.

All Lenovo Black Friday sale in Here if you want to have a nosey

As I always do If I see any others I'll add in! **Update - Found a couple more - see below

Also the IdeaPad 520 i7-7500U is down to £779.99, which is another nice looking machine. Has 8GB Ram / 256Gb SSD and a 940mx. I know the GPU isn't as beastly as some of you would like, but you'd probably not be buying something like this solely for gaming anyways.

Has the fingerprint reader on this model, as well has Harman speakers. (Always a bonus over some of the tinny models I've had over the years)

If you are after something with a bit more beef for gaming with a bigger screen and a heftier GPU. Lenovo IdeaPad Y910 17 £1299.99

I saw one posted with with similar specs recently that was £100 more, then came across this, which I think is worth it.

It's a 17.3" Full HD IPS screen, which makes me happy (can't do without IPS nowadays) There's a GTX 1070 8GB in there too, with a 256GB SSD + a 1TB drive for game storage and 16GB of RAM. So yeah, it's pretty well equipped and personally I think it's pretty and up for pretty much anything

Never thought a laptop would be better at Yoga then me.

Bought one of these and sent it back because the fans are really whiny, google it it's a known issue and none of the bios fixes worked for me. Beautiful machine, well built and the screen is incredible, but for something this sleek and this price I couldn't deal with the fan noise.

The 920 supposedly fixed a few problems. The base model was a reasonable price I thought, but they haven't realeased the 4k ones in the UK yet I think

BEWARE I bought a lenovo Ideapad laptop and a tablet. After a time both refused to start. I have been able to reset the tablet but have not yet tried to fix the laptop as it has just gone wrong and is still under guarantee!
So if you buy a Lenovo product it may stop working.Searching the net suggests the problems are quite common. This is a lot of money to pay if you find it wont switch on or wont progress past the start screen.

What the heck is the point in 4k on a laptop this size? I can't live with 1080p on my ultrabook without using at least 125% scaling in Windows 10. Just seems totally unnecessary to me.

I have the Yoga 900. Performance is incredible however the nice hinge fell apart after a year after the warrant expired. If you're going to buy it please get extra cover.

If it helps me put into perspective they gave me a further discount to make it about £700 and it still wasn't worth it. The power was great as was the screen, but the fan noise was so so whiny. Youtube it you should find it!

thanks for the tips, completely agree with you, this is such major fault, it is crazy Lenovo not to look into it and go back to it the drawing board and make it right. They should send you a new one without such and offer you cash back for all the inconvenience. Maybe I am old school, nowadays companies just want to make a quick and easy money.

Super hot from me.

To all the folks who were spaffing themselves a few months back over all the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti gaming laptops around this price with useless i7s, this is what a proper gaming laptop looks like, balanced.

The gaming laptop is decent, if it had a slightly better processor I would buy it.

They are available as been looking at the Lenovo website for last few weeks. Better buy I'd say given 8th gen quad core and other updates.

Really? I can't find the 4k models here yet.

But yes I wouldn't want to buy a 7th gen when the 8th are such an improvement. Unfortunately most ultrabook makers are using black Friday as a means to offload the old models, and aren't discounting their new lines

Cold, not MacBook.

Wouldn't pay that much for a machine unless it was the surface book

In that case the y910 will be £1,198.79

Normally it's Apple fans that whine the most.....

Beware i have had 2 lenova laptops in the past and both died within months of each other never again

Thank you to the first few commenters for pointing out it's faults. I really like the design, but that's put me right off. I'll sleep easier, can go back to speccing up a desktop now X)

None today it seems but they've definitely had them. Unfortunately the Lenovo store pulls all mention of models if they're currently out of stock :-( You just have to keep checking. If I remember correctly 920 Vibes was available with 4k.

Guys, what do you think about the legion y520 15 for grand (i7-7700hq, 256gb ssd, 1060 max q 6gb)?

Which model(s)? In common with other manufacturers (HP, Dell etc.) Lenovo sell from cheap to premium ranges and the quality does vary amongst them.

Honesty i can't remember the models they where mid range spec and died of the same fault am not joking 2 months apart even their poorest model should last 12 months

Totally done with Lenovo - they've ruined the reliability of Motorola and when I chanced a Lenovo laptop (mid range/entry gaming) last year that was a real steal, it was faulty out of the box. No thanks.

I have the old Lenovo yoga 15 with i7u and 920m. If this is anything like that one the build quality is excellent and has my favourite keyboard out of any laptop I've used.

Note, the i7u series of processors are terrible.

How is this "Yoga Book with Android"?

How does it compare to the Windows version?

Would it be good as a laptop for my younger sister (13)? She likes drawing so the picture's interested me, but the main reason she wants one is to also use a program called "Python" I believe which involves coding/computer science etc...

Yoga book, as I know, has a touch sensory keyboard, which I suspect is not the ideal choice for someone who wants doing coding/typing a lot.

You are never going to buy a computer then, if you wait for the next new version of a component, that will always be better...

Cold.

Not a Dell XPS 15 4K, which I have just bought, and is the best laptop...including MacBook Pros.

Sorry Apple fans, you could pay £900 more than the XPS 15 and still have a lower spec laptop.

Best is debatable, the Dell is great but due to build quality/QC issues many owners would disagree with you! Reviews say it looks nice but having seen it in the flesh and how quickly the finish wears and attracts finger prints, personally I think it looks cheap. But then you don't necessarily buy a laptop for it's looks! Screen quality and performance, despite the throttling, is ace.

Yes, if you want the best build quality, buy a Lenovo Thinkpad, but it looks like a business laptop.

As far as consumer laptops go, the Dell XPS 15 is as good as it gets, and on par with the Apple MacBook Pros.

Looks are indeed suggestive.

lovely .. bought a thinkpad to replace the one i have had for over 10 years .. top machines

Bit short notice to find a grand, but hey nice lappy....

This is decent gaming laptop!

Everyone talking about the laptop.... I got the cheap desktop at the very end and I was hoping to get some validation in here about it. Would it have been better to go for the 599 model instead? I don't give a crap about the case and someone who posted the cheaper desktop the other day said the graphics card in it gives the gtx a run for its money.

Harumph!
