How do you actually get this price down? I put the code febdeal in and it said expired. Do you need to go through the unidays website to get their bit of the discount?
have to log in via unidays first, then the code is already added
it doesnt work without logging via unidays
i am not sure whether it works with studentsbean as well
I'd be all over this at this price as the Chromebook version
Can confirm it works with Student Beans as well. Thanks OP. Nice deal, the 13 inch was a bit too small for my needs and this is bigger , same spec and over £100 cheaper. 🏽

If by "same spec" you mean compared to the previous C640 deal, that's not quite true.
• No back-lit keyboard (deal-breaker for me personally)
• Non-aluminium build
• Screen significantly less bright (250 nits vs 400 nits)
• Glossy screen vs. anti-glare screen
• Smaller battery (52.5Wh vs 60Wh)
• No active pen
• Bluetooth 4.2 vs. 5.0
• No fingerprint reader

But it also has some benefits of course, primarily the price if you can get it through Unidays/Student Beans as you mentioned.

Thanks Aristotle, I should have used the word similar (my bad) in terms of CPU ram and HDD (my primary aim). Although I thought it was the same aluminium with polycarbonate build as the C640?

Price was key here thou for me with the UNiDAYS discount. I value your opinion, does the Bluetooth and screen difference matter for someone just using for online surfing, word docs and occasional streaming?

Of note the keyboard is back lit

You can see the detailed specs of the C340 and the C640 here. As you can see, both have polycarbonate but only the C640 has aluminium.

The main improvements in Bluetooth in the C640 is that will have twice the data transfer speeds and four times the range. If you don't use Bluetooth though this of course won't matter, and even if you occasionally use it Bluetooth 4.2 is still perfectly adequate.

250 nits is however on the lower end in terms of brightness, you may struggle to see the screen in many outdoor environments. The screen is however IPS so it will look great indoors.

For your use cases I'm sure you'll be happy with the C340.

Edit: And according to my above links the keyboard is not backlit.

All so confusing on the Lenovo website:

I just opened
Does not appear to be backlit
It's definitely different build than yoga
Only tested indoors brightness is good
I think at the price point and my requirements for a bigger screen ,seems fine
How does the CPU on this compare to the i5-10210U in the C640? I just received my C640 a couple of days ago but am mulling over what to do about the noisy fan.

I would trust psref.lenovo.com/ over lenovo.com/. The latter also said that the C640 has USB PD whereas the former didn't, and according to those who have already received it it doesn't.

Did removing McAfee and changing the settings to "better battery" help you at all in the end?

The first thing I did when I started up the laptop was remove Mcafee! Have adjusted the battery settings & changed to Quiet Mode in the UEFI & will keep an eye on things for the next couple of days.

Anyone know if the build quality and hard wearing on this laptop is better than the 530S or 540S
Does anyone know if the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard or can it be upgraded? From this post it looks like it may have 4GB soldered and 4GB in a removeable slot.

Yep you also get a finger print reader, aluminium build and anti glare screen hence the price difference. Just depends what you need. p.s. the C340 also has 256gb SSD.
