Yes, I think so. Just bought the Yoga 8 3G at John Lewis for £199.99, and with vat back that's £159.99. Not bad for a tablet with 3G, awesome battery life, built in stand - and with a 2 year JL guarantee. Yes, I know Amazon are a bit cheaper but the 2 year warranty is worth the extra £12 or so.

This looks like a good deal for lenovo flex 14. Can someone direct which product is Flex 59405022 ?

Edited by: "itsgun4u" 22nd Aug 2014

It's the red flex 14 at pc world priced at 400

They have just upgraded the Flex to the Flex 2 - the original Flex is still around but the Flex 2 comes with a 1080P touchscreen and, I think, increased RAM but apparently the case and keyboard are now more plasticky according to some reviews.

So double check what they are offering a deal on - the Flex or the Flex 2.

"with the vat back that's" £166.66, not £159.99 (£166.66 plus 20% VAT = £199.99).

Yes and no. Since everyone typically has to pay VAT, you're not getting VAT back, just a discount.

Your figures may accurately reflect the VAT element in my purchase, but my figures try to reflect the discount (cash back) that Lenovo will actually give us. They say they will pay back 20% of gross price.

No they don't. This isn't a 20% off deal, its a 1/6th off deal.

They want people to think the former.

No. Lenovo provide an example of the cashback calculation within para 5 of the promotion's t&c. That calculation shows the cashback is the VAT element of the purchase price, not 20% of the purchase price. Example being £250 cashback on £1500 purchase. Using your assumed calculation, you would be expecting £300 on the same £1500 purchase.

Yes if you want to calculate your cashback amount it will be your purchase price times 0.16666666666 so you are effectively getting 16.66666666% off.

No T or X series.

This is consumer junk for the masses.

Why don't they just reduce prices?, this Cash Back is a nonsense.

Cos they work on the principle that a (high) percentage may not bother. Also...it's probably a nice way of building up a mailing database.

Be careful with saveonlaptops if using this offer. It cost me £75 when they didn't cough up.

Yes, you and others are quite right. I looked at the example Lenovo quoted and thought, "no way is that 16.66%", but of course it is. Deal description is now amended . . .Thanks.

So does anyone know whats the best as in most powerful laptop available...its kind of confusing with just the product codes because some sites don't have them so I don't know which are actually included in the offer.
