I've been asked to find a laptop/tablet hybrid for a friend at the sub-£200 mark. I've just seen that Amazon have reduced the price of this to their lowest yet - for the price it seems like a decent spec (a slightly lower spec at £220 got to 300degs a month ago)

Weight 1.2 kg
Display Size 10.1 inches
Processor Intel Celeron 1.6 GHz
Operating System Windows 8.1
Memory 4 GB
Hard Drive 320 GB
Graphics Card Integrated

Edit - back in stock as of 16th Dec, 15:00

Thanks jimbo!

I've been next to find the same, either a laptop or a hybrid. Does anyone know if these are any good? It seems like a good price.

Being honest, the amazon reviews seem to suggest there have been some issues with the touchscreen - at least buying it through Amazon should mean that if there are any unresolved issues, these can be sorted out fairly painlessly.
If I'm honest, were it a purchase for myself, I'd probably (definitely!) spend more money to purchase an alternative, but as with everything, there's always something better for more money!

Ok thanks. Does anyone know of a better alternative for around the £200 mark or less?

Posting from one of these right now. No issues so far after a week of ownership. This is a good price!

Great price. £40 more at Very.

I've used one of these & seemed fine, streamed 1080p no problem.

Double check Argos, they have to on there website 10inch models one says it down from £320 to £229 new, and they have another one what states £229 and sometimes when u click on it its actual £179.00, if i remember the fitst is better upgraded N Proc then the one u listed above not sure about the later one could be the same, but u get £20in vouchers and argos are simple for returns, , - also check argos ebay site as they do alot of refurb ones like the 14inch version for £250.00 just type in lenovo, the HP X360 was a nice one for £250 from currys (still on promo considering it was due to end last week silver only now)

no there isnt. i ordered this for my girlfriend

Thanks

I'm on the verge of getting an Asus T100 or T200, but this looks like a good alternative

They've put the screen the wrong way round

Asus t100 or t200 better imo. Keyboard that flips partially round seems utterly pointless

why would anybody knowingly buy a Celeron?

"The Lenovo Flex comes equipped with a long-life battery, so you can get the most out of your laptop PC between charges. You will be able to enjoy up to 4 hours* of online productivity and entertainment on-the-go before it needs to be topped up.

Get up to 4 hours battery life with the idle Windows 8.1 start screen at 150Nits display brightness and up to 6 hours battery life with full HD video play back at 150Nits display brightness.
**Battery life is an estimated maximum. Actual battery life may vary based on many factors."

No thanks.

Someone at Intel: I'm not sure we have enough CPUs with different model numbers.

Some Intel Boss: Yes I think you're right have we done any with a 7 in the model name

Some one else at Intel: I'm not sure I'm too high on Red Bull, let's just hit the random number generator

Don't need one as ordered a laptop recently and have a tablet on its way, but stuck it into Flubit to see if an even lower price will tempt me. Heat added.

That's a fair point and also the battery life is poor/average. I'm impressed by the Asus 11 hours estimate.
Hmmm shall I just buy now or wait for the new year's sales and hope for the best? Decisions, decisions...

Problem with these hybrid devices is that as a tablet, it's got the weight of a concrete brick, and as a laptop its compromised due to its small size and screen and low powered Bay Trail CPU.

Personally, I'd buy 2 seperate devices - that 13" £200 Acer Windows laptop on here the other day (or Chromebook eg. Acer 720) and a decent tablet, if you need both. No reason why you can't synch apps between the two and share via the cloud.

Ive got the older t100 (new t100 version has better cpu and gpu, assume same keyboard) battery is excellent, screen not too bad, its bright enough despite what some reviews might have you beleive. Keyboard isn't brilliant if im honest and the mouse pad goes to sleep if you've been typing which is annoying. However even with the keybaord it weighs a lot less than the surface pro i'm badly typing on now. T200 supposed to be a decent improvement.

ordered for my better half. can't complain for under £200 price of this model.
thanks OP, heat added

Flubit has come in with a price of £167.44, hmmm, do I or don't I?

Make two decisions for two buys. For one decision buy one, for the other decision, do not buy one as you have one.

Haha, I decided against it, I have just recently got a Linx7 for everyday carrying around and also a Dell Latitude E6220 to be my new laptop so it would have been a bit overkill to have this as well.

I actually bought a Linx 10 and a Microsoft Wedge mouse/keyboard. I thought I would prefer the setup compared to my Asus T100. However, I actually prefer the keyboard on the T100! In fact, I think it is one of the best 10" device keyboards I've ever used. Solid action that never fails to register the key press. & the keyboard is well laid out too. The touchpad is a shocker - but I solve that problem with a Targus mouse plugged into a 4 port hub (working off the USB 3 port)
I personally couldn't ever consider a Surface on the basis that they really aren't very good when used on anything but a hard surface. The T100 for me is still the best
