Good price for the spec, anyone know if it an IPS 1080p screen?

yes it is but watch out for the screen bleed!

I think this is a pretty good deal but waiting for the HUKD computer experts to chime in before I pull the trigger on this one.

Not bad price but i bought my i7 version for £600 + 100 cashback not that long ago.

I since sold it for £550 and bought a alienware 15 i7 4710hq

Pretty good....a relative got the 14" version....however be aware the up to 6 hour battery life isn't really true. Though you can get pretty close around the 5 hour mark, but you gotta tone down screen brightness, otherwise expect somewhere around the 3 hour mark on average usage.

Think i'd rather pay the extra £60 for the added 2 years warranty from JL's.

heat added..

Does anyone know if this has a backlit keyboard? I'm guessing it doesn't, as not mentioned, but it has everything else I've been looking for (1080p screen, i5 processor, DVD drive, 1TB storage) so will be annoying if this is yet another laptop that's missing just one of my criteria.

No it's not unfortunately. Picked one of these up on ebay from a seller called exdemolaptops. They sell them on auction quite a lot, grade A with 90 day warranty. Got mine for 315 plus postage.
