240 min I think! Was thinking of an Acer timeline but Lenovo are supposedly much better built than Acer so tempted by this. Also a bit suspicious of the whole timeline battery thing. my current laptop had a battery life of 2 hours when i bought it but 2 1/2 years on it lasts 30 min if I'm lucky.

512MB cache. if this is ture than WOW the best intel only has 12MB of cache

Up to 240 hours battery life. (maybe in standby) LOL

Lenovo are good yes, but if you want a very good Acer UltraPortable, then go for the Aspire Timeline 1810tz - I and many people on here have it, and its pretty darn good.

looks a decent buy,i had 2 Samsungs from argos outlet when they were £289 there now £354 !!!,anyway they turned out not too be refurbs at all but brand new just selling off old stock what wasn't in the new catalogue so if this model isn't it may well be new too.

Will this play SIMS 3 OK?

Daughter wants to purchase her own laptop and is not a serious hard core gamer; just want something that will handle SIMS 3 OK

Thanks

Does this model come with an HDMI port? It isn't listed anywhere in the specs.

Really? i think the laptops are ok but the after sales service is the worst ever.
I purchased a laptop for my son in december last year.It went wrong in March...was back and forth 4 times whilst they changed the motherboard ...had they have even bothererd to test the machine they would have discovererd it was a stick of ram at fault. At this point i asked for a replacement...it took 3 weeks for a answer..then 7 weeks for me to recieve one.I contacted Watchdog in the end.Only last week did i finally get a laptop....However that didnt work.Fortunatly i know a fair bit about computers so i fixed it myself in the end as that was only a software issue.heaven knows what someone who didnt know how to fix it would go on.Total time without a laptop ...5 months.

512mb cache
240 hours battery...

I completely agree if you get bad customer service it puts you off the product completely. I found Acer to have the worst customer service ever and for this reason I would never buy Acer again.

When I did have to contact Lenovo I got a UK telephone number and they were absolutely great, the sent me the whole rebuild discs free of charge - have not needed the discs yet but if I ever do it has saved a lot of hassle.:)

same here,im sure HP/COMPAQ make some fine laptops and lots of people have had good experiences with them but having had a bad time myself i wont be buying that make again no matter how good a bargain it is.

Out of Stock now :-(

Available again.

Likewise - probably quickest decision on buying a laptop which is odd as I usually spend a long time investigating! Spec-wise I don't think anything comes close...Amazon is selling for £370 (NEW unit)

Anyone worked out which model this is? I think its the G555?

Based on the spec and reviews I've seen, I'm pretty sure this is the G555 (have a look at reviews on the Argos website for machine with identical spec -> http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Browse/ID72/16164797/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7COffice%2C+PCs+and+phones%7C14418968/c_2/2%7C14418968%7CLaptops+and+Netbooks%7C16164797/r_001/4%7CBrands%7CLenovo%7C1.htm#tabrev)

Mine has arrived today, it is the G555. It is very very nice, especially for the price

agreed it came with win 7home too instead of starter.

Aye, Home Premium

Great find, very impressed so far. Nice, quick machine, good feel / quality to the unit. And like the fact it has built-in bluetooth (not listed anywhere) and the Veriface recognition software is pretty good and more than just a gimmick!

Only thing that I would like to do is upgrade RAM - as this is DDR2-800 modules and they seemed to have doubled in price since production reduced (to focus on DDR3). Interesting that you can virtually dismantle the PC without every coming across one of the warranty seal stickers!!

Cheers OP!

These are now re-listed.
4 left, after the one I bought.
