hmmm.... deal? usually they sell it for £249.99! wait and see it will drop in price again, probably on 1st January.
Really? I'd not seen an i3 with 8gb ram for that price. Not fussed about hard drive as I've got an SSD to pop in it. And this one is easy to do as it's just one panel to remove on the underside.
What's the video like on these? I was thinking at this price you might be better off with an AMD APU based lappy assuming you might want the odd game on it from time to time?

What do you mean by the video?

Any intel cpu based laptop would be able to handle full HD with ease.

Only worth getting an AMD apu based laptop if you are really on a budget and want to do some basic gaming.

Otherwise intel will offer lower power consumption and better processor speed
I was going to go and check this out today, got put off by the torrential rain. Says it's down from £499, which we all know is overblown, but I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere else. Will the price drop again? In regards to processors, which is better? "i", pentium, celeron or amd? Or is it all about what you use it for?

agreed but i thought we are on HOT UK DEALS and looking for deals but not on currys.co.uk... every day prices?!
I looked at this laptop today in currys, I didn't like the touch pad or the feel of the laptop, may not be a bad machine but I wouldn't buy it because of this, others may like it
Gone, its now £349 :-(
Whether it used to be £250 or not, at the current time amazon is the only place selling a laptop at this spec for under £300, so a good deal anyway if it was still going at £280. Believe me Im holding out for a cheaper price.

I bought one of these from Currys for the £280 price. Looking at other Laptops available in the £300 range it looked like a reasonable spec. Been playing with it for the last few days and it seems pretty good, still getting used to Windows 10 though, But I find it so much better than Windows 8.1. Having owned several laptops over the years and having to fix other peoples I have found Lenovo's to be quite reliable and sturdy.
Downloaded Google chrome and set that as the default browser, couldn't get on with Edge and Bing.
The 5th gen I3 processor has a benchmark speed of 2900 so not slow.

My only issue was that I wanted an SSD hard drive but I bought one of the 256GB Sandisk SSD's the other day from Amazon for £41 that was on a lightning deal.
So that will be in next week and the 1TB mechanical drive relegated to the desktop as a spare drive for photo storage. This will only be used for general web surfing, E-mails and some office stuff and for that it's perfect.
