Thanks, I'll be sure to add that to the OP and credit you.

The trolling on this site is getting worse. 1,366 x 768 is hd even if it isn't full hd. Especially on this screen size.

Heat added pal.

Yeah I know, can't please some people. Can't expect full HD at this price point. I think it's a terrific deal. I have a Lenovo myself (Z50-70), and it is a great machine. Thanks mate

My laptop's 9 years old and was an entry level. I'm now looking at getting a new laptop for my daughter and can't believe the resolution for entry level laptops hasn't changed, yet look at how mobile phones, tablets and TV's have moved on in that time. I can't find a 1080 laptop for much less than £400
No disrespect to the OP, this is a good deal in comparison to what's available at present.

I have edited the ops description to take out your addition. Those comments are welcome in the comments section. Your personal 'only **** resolution' opinion does not need adding!

super tempted by this! I'm after a new laptop for uni work which will be able to handle some light photo and some video editing. If I could do some gaming on it also that would be great. Any advice please?

Full HD on 15 inch is very much noticeable compare to 768p.

It is very noticeable on the 10.1 inch Miix 3 which had 1920x1200 compare to a normal 768p.

But you need to pay more for it. So you have to weigh the increase in price and nicer screen.

If you are willing to pay a little bit more for FHD, I suggest you hold off. Some FHD deal will come around soon. There have been some good FHD deals recently.

Two weeks ago, there were Lenovo Z50 with i3, FHD and SSD for £250. Downside was the keyboard was french or German version. Screen was TN panel, not IPS.

Two weeks ago, there were Thinkpad L450 with i5, IPS FHD and SSD for less than £450.

However, if you do not need FHD, there is a hot deal.

i3, 8GB RAM, 1TB, brand new from amazon.

There is a i3, 4GB RAM, 500GB from ebuyer for £20 less.

This deal should be hotter. The differences worth more than £20.

The resolution wasn't in the title or OP, this is the first thing I look for when looking at laptops, and by the looks of it, not just me.

Why do people get so defensive about the resolution. Like it or not, it should be viewable.

I have 1080p on my dell xps 15 laptop and it's too small. I have to zoom in on websites.

Just don't see the obsession with HD screens on laptops. They simply aren't required.

Which is why I guess it's not mainstream.
So please, please, please stop trolling every laptop post that doesn't come with 1080 screens.

It's beyond ridiculous now.

How does this processor compare To my very ancient Toshiba satellite pro l300 laptop.which has Intel core 2 duo processor 2.0ghz ? Not kept up with latest technology...how fast would this be compared to my old one ?..say downloading, watching YouTube video etc???

Voted hot! Excellent value for money!

Is this aluminum or plastic?

If this has Snapfish installed, is it relatively easy to remove?

Although my Lenovo is a different model, I think there may be the same concern with the keyboard, particularly for left-handed people, as the shift key on the right is too small, and right next to the up-arrow key, so lots of scope for keying errors. I seem to suffer more mis-types that normal with this keyboard anyway - I do wish laptop manufacturers would look at how many people don't need / use the numeric keypad and would prefer bigger keys and a more central touchpad.

I don't think trolling means what you think it means.

Like it or not, the resolution should be visible.

If it is a 15" laptop and it costs £250 - it has a 1366 x 768 screen. Just assume that from now on?

1366 x 768 is a lot more visible than 1080p when viewing websites.

1080p on a 15.6" screen is overkill IMO

how easy would it be to swap out the HDD with SSD (done it on a Windows 7 laptop that has now died, so have spare SSD ready to use, but don't know how easy it is with Windows 8

Not sure about Windows 8, but if you have a 15.6 inch full HD screen with Windows 7, then a lot of the icons, text etc will be too small to see properly. Yes, you can boost the font size, but Windows doesn't do that particularly well or consistently. 1600x900 is probably the best compromise for screens that size, though it's rarely found these days.

Ha meant Superfish, I had been looking at Hp laptops at the same time and their HP Photo Connect uses the Snapfish App, and confused myself.

Attention seeker

Do these come with a Windows license sticker on them or is it pre-load only? I'd like to wipe and install fresh OS to get rid of all the crap.

Plastic

The resolution is very important and the fact there's no blue lights on it make it slower. Cold from me. /s

How does this compare to the ASUS on amazon? The ASUS has better processor but fewer RAM. Thanks!
