Amazon daily deal, decent spec for a laptop would always suggest a ssd in any laptop anyway + a clean install. Please note this is also upgradeable to windows 10 for free.

Much high res
Just bought the Toshiba 8gb yesterday from Argos but its stuck on a reboot loop on windows 10 (a known problem according to Google). I'm returning today as no idea how to fix it and just want a laptop that works. would the same happen with this if I bought it as it has windows 10?

Have upgraded to Windows 10 on my main PC, laptop and tablet without any issue plus done a clean install after I've upgraded.. A note to remember is to always upgrade first then do a clean install after as the licence key has to be transferred over
the keyboards on these cheap Lenovos are stupidly flimsy, good price for the spec but the quality of the machines build is horrible

All I did was start the laptop up for the first time. I haven't done any installs its just what was on the laptop. after 2 hours I couldn't open the start menu so did a restart and now it's stuck in a loop. only 2 hours old.

The Toshiba was free upgrade to W10. I didn't upgrade it must have done it automatically on start up. How can I stop it upgrading?

People looking for a £249 laptop don't care, many won't know what your comment means. Show us a full HD resolution laptop for this sort of money.

W10 does not install automatically.

Thanks so its more of a laptop issue rather than W10. My current laptop is windows 7 so I thought it was windows 10 but maybe it was windows 8 - I wouldn't know the difference and couldn't find any property information on the laptop.

1,366 x 768 is standard resolution for this price of laptop (you'll need to spend an extra £100ish to get Full HD) and yes, Netflix will work and look just fine on this HD resolution laptop.
Is there a way to do a clean install and remove all the bloat ware but keep the Lenovo one key/ hot key?
Does anyone know if you can have 2 HDDs in here? I am happy to swap out the DVD drive for a HDD if that is possible.I would like to use an SSD as the system drive and use the 1TB drive as data-only drive.

Yes you will just have to buy a DVD to HDD adapted

Yes you can.
Thinking of buying this as a Gift to mother - Does anyone know if this comes with International Warranty?
I'm on my second. The first had track pad problems where the cursor doesn't respond. The replacement has started doing the same thing.
The reviews regarding poor build quality have put me off.

Hi, we've also bought a Toshiba refurb from Argos about a week ago. It's on Windows 8.1.
we've registered for the Windows 10 upgrade.

How do we do a clean install once upgraded? Would I not be prompted to do this anyway as part of the install process. Does a clean install mean I lose everything on my laptop so it needs backing up beforehand?
Why is the FIRE6PACK promotional code showing up in the description for this? As far as I can see it applies to buying 6 kindle fires and getting one free, it doesn't apply here.
Just be aware that Lenovo's budget laptops come with tons of bloatware, I bought one from my dad earlier this year and the thing was literally unusable out of the box, opening any link with the web browser would result in several tabs being opened for god knows what app and the machine would be so slow it was silly.

I had to spend over an hour going through all the crap that it came pre-installed with to make sure I didn't uninstall anything from Lenovo that was actually needed by the laptop. And even then, I still had to troubleshoot it once or twice more because I missed a few, the names of the Lenovo apps and the bloatware ones don't always make it easy to tell which is which.

If I hadn't been with my father when he got it he would've been screwed, because he doesn't have the know how to fix this.

It wasn't a bad machine for the money, but just know that this is part of the reason why they sell it so cheap.

Read my post 2 just above yours - some Lenovo laptops even reinstall the bloatware....

totally disagree. I bought the G50-80 same model just slightly different spec and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The keyboard is a little springy but nothing to worry about and these machines look much nicer in the flesh so to speak than they do in the photos.
