Why do you keep doing that? Tourettes?

It's what I look for first when viewing laptops. Saving others like me the bother of searching if it's not in the op.

I'm sure most people look at the specs and know it will it have a HD screen. Or Is it because you got a few likes the first 700 times you did it?

I look at the specs, post results if not in the op, saves others a bit of time. Not sure why you'd even have to comment on it.

Well you need to do a better job not just copy & paste. Comment above asking if it is bad res. Well is it?

Not here to answer questions, I'm only on lookout for the resolution, so that's all I post.

Special Offer: Save £80 (original price was £249.95 from 8.4.15-17.5.15).
Offer ends 2 September 2015.

I am impressed that we are 14 comments/25 minutes into the thread & nobody has mentioned Bloatware &/or Superfish malware.

D'oh!

I think everyone is concerned about 1366 x 768

what about Lenovo crapware?

Also depends on screen size - resolution without that is meaningless. For example, is 1280 x 800 on a 7 inch screen better than 1920 x 1200 on a 15 inch screen? I have no idea which is best - makes posting just resolution pointless!

Recent i5 5200U CPU with Intel HD Graphics 5500 graphics spec update. To me, in store, it looked cheap and cheerful and didn't feel particularly robust but, at the price, it seems churlish to complain, considering the spec. Hot.

i found it useful (1366x768)...thanks

LOL! I know you've posted a lot of deals, but really? Don't start a flame war over stuff like that. You got some rep, try not to blow it.

All you are achieving with negative/sarcastic comments like you are currently is inviting people to report you for trolling.

Have you ever heard of the term 'too big for your boots'?

Thanks, you saved me the trouble.

As for the OP, heat added and I might actually buy this, it is what I am looking for ... just not a 1080P screen and you could have said in the post!!! -lol, kidding.

I don't have any rep around here. Also if you click on the last 5 laptop posts he has posted the same comment on everyone which to most people who don't know about resolution looks like he is pulling the deal down. The screen resolution is HD but yet he keeps posting the same posts like it is no good. There is no point you joining in on something that has been going on for weeks.

Why does posting '1366 x 768' say it's no good. Is your life so empty that you've got time to remember such detail about such trivia? Anybody who's remotely interested will click on 'Get deal' and check out the spec anyway, so does it matter?

In this day and age where all decent phones are full HD it seems ridiculous to me that they are still making laptops with, screens so many times bigger, below full HD

This is an excellent deal.
This is on par with the Dell I had to send back because of the noisy touchpad.
Every time you left or right clicked it was very loud and distracting.
I will go to JLP and inspect this but for the money it`s a good buy.(although I would have preferred silver)

The bit on their website about the previous price must be a mistake I would have thought.

Two years warranty and buying from JLP , can`t see how you can go wrong with this.

According to this site it`s the G50-70 that`s affected by superfish.
This model from JLP it just says G50.

Heated and advised a mate who was looking for a laptop to buy.

If I bought this I would upgrade to Windows 10, followed by clean install of Windows 10 - presumably that would remove all bloatware/mallard.

why would I need a higher resolution screen than this has - I don't watch movies or play games on my laptop, (if I did wouldn't I need higher spec everything ?

Yes - I think he is putting the 'deal' down snd with good (IMHO) reason: a screen on a laptop is not easy to upgrade and something you're going to be staring at for long time. The latest skylake, broadwell or 32gb ram or 1tb ssd will do squat for a low resolution crappy TN screen. If you're going to use a monitor - fine.
Also after both the spyware and bios 'malware' debacles not to mention whitelisting I'm not sure Lenovo is a brand to recommend - at least on the consumer side.

any i7 with good gpu's?

slavibigspender

what about Lenovo crapware?

Do a fresh install as soon as

Very very tempted! I was just about to buy the i7 version of the G50, but for £100 less I think I could make do with i5.

Full hd really is better especially for older eyeballs.

Sorry but I think the 1366 x 768 posts are getting a bit tiring, its clearly a dig at the deal and I'd argue an unfair one if you compare other laptops in this price range, though I guess posting the specs as part of the deal would help and remove the need for these posts.

Sure I'd agree these laptops should come with a higher res screen, but its rare at this price (unless people criticising want to post a few deals), and a lot of people paying this price will be fine with it.

Personally its the lack of SSDs in the cheaper laptops that really bugs me!

Anyway, I think post #36 shows the biggest reason to avoid this deal.

Will it be easy to put an SSD in there?
