Interestingly, for me, people always seem nervy about posting laptop deals and boreding on terrified on suggesting a desktop.

However, I'm posting this as it seems a good price point and whilst the discount may not be the most generous, it seems a decent spec for sub £500.

I'm considering getting this purely for business and run a CRM as well as receiving/sending a vast amount of e-mails and documents so I'm not fussed about a Blu-Ray drive or COD looking great. Ultimately that means it's going to be the processor speed that doesn't "hold" my secreen regardless of whether I have 15 screens open and my anti-virus is running.

A bit like Dragon's Den here where I know what I need but need the expert's guidance!

I'm not interested in refurbs as they don't fill me confidence so let me know what you think. Even if it gets freezing, at least I may have some guidance on what's comparable, give or take £100. Usual cr4p below detailing what it may/may not have so get in line for firing me abuse as i@m married so used to it: -)

Voting cold I'm afraid, no graphics card, poor resolution with the monitor.

I reckon you could find something like this with the same spec for £350-400.

To be fair, have you thought about a netbook as it's just for office use? If you want a high powered netbook look for a build based on the AMD E-350s.

Cheers Ulti. I based it on (what I think) is a decent brand and the 2410M yet I'm not superficial in choosing an i-anything over AMD.

Well Lenovo is a decent brand IMO but it's not worth so much for these more budget orientated laptops. I really don't think you'll need a 2410M for office use though. I reckon you'll be better off using the saving on a SSD. But that's just my opinion, might be worth joining technology a technology forum and asking them for opinions.
