Seems rather cheap for what it offers, particularly compared to other Lenovo G570 15.6 inch notebooks with lower specs. What do you think- is it a glitch?

Nice price on Amazon for a good spec laptop, I thought it had blu-ray as well at first but it's bluetooth.
Edited by: "SpoonyBoy" 28th Nov 2011

It does have Bluray as stated in the detail description. Got one for myself and expect to receive it tomorrow. It is surely one of the best laptop deal for i5-2430m!!!

The £439 is with DVDRW optical drive.

Gosh. When I bought it yesterday, it was written bluray. Think Amazon amended it. Anyway, it's still a great deal X)

Its a shame it doesnt have a graphics card otherwise I may have went for it. Does anyone know if it has a glossy screen?

Anyone know of a laptop similar to this but with a dedicated 1gb card in it ???

yup - but this thread came first.

You can get the i3 with bluray for under £500. Does anyone think there will be better deals after xmas or should I get a laptop now?

They don't, the one on my 2+ year old Dell Studio still works great and has pinch to zoom, etc too. And two buttons

If you do need the laptop for gaming, Lenovo G770 would be a good choice with 2GB of fast mid range AMD graphic, i5-2430M, and 8GB DDR3. It is only £579.99 in Amazon and £40 cheaper than Saveonlaptops.

Have used G570 for a day and looooooooooooove it!

Samsung series 7 has nice trackpad too. Apple does have nice hardwares, but you pay almost £1k more for it.

Didn't know laptops still came with those, loved them on 486 Toshibas.

Winson I do not need it urgently as I can use my pc in the meantime but just hope I can get a better deal if I wait till Xmas. I was going to buy this laptop but having reservations as I have heard that the screen is not great. I would be playing the odd game here and there but not often at all

My current laptop is a Lenovo N100 which I bought about 5 or 6 years ago for £550. Its dying now as I can only use it without the battery charger plugged in and battery dies quickly. If I use it while the charger is in I cannot use my trackpad and it makes a constant loud ticking noise, lol

just yesterday ordered refurbished Dell Inspiron N411z with same processor and 4gb RAM. Paid £ 378.1. Have this feeling that now will be regretting for not waiting for this one.

Thanks. I'll wait until Xmas sales.

Good laptop this, I've got three friends to buy it on my recommendation and all are very happy with it.

It's a solid bit of kit.

Revo it may not be the battery though, the problem could be the laptop since it doesnt seem to work properly even if I take the battery off and use the mains power.

This Youtube review describes the screen as poor [compared to a 4 year old Apple MacBook Pro he has running beside it]
Have a look youtube.com/wat…GaQ

Otherwise it reviews fine...

I ordered N411Z with it was ~£330 and it never arrived. Dell claims lost in Delivery (I think they want to charge more as price gone up after I ordered). Just ordered this one now !!

Okay, for £400, G70 offers much more than the price itseft. The screen is totally fine and crisp. Its viewing angle is good too.

Again, if you want to compare a £400 laptop with £1500 Macbook. Go ahead. It's absolutely your choice.

Dang. Hopefully its just the guy complaining that thought it had a blu-ray drive.

Seems no longer available from Amazon. Lasted long enough in Amazon to generated enough heat here, thanks to all. To expire?
I can confirm that Amazon description said bluetooth, not bluray, but can be confusing as the next down in the drop down box had bluray, and on first glance both appear same (as part of of the description in the box is obscured till you hover the cursor over it).

Think I am "the guy" that you mentioned... = = haha.

The problem is not about bluray but bluetooth. This laptop should come with bluetooth but it doesn't. Therefore somebody complained to Amazon (not me). I called Lenovo and confirmed that not all but some laptops have bluetooth. So I was advised to exchange for one that has built-in bluetooth.

its back on website but now without Bluetooth !

Can any of the owners please let me know if this has SATA-600 aka SATA-III connector for HDD?

Ah, so you bought one of the 2 N411z's (£315 exc VAT) which have been on the Outlet site for a while. Both now gone.

The Lenovo G570 has been on PC Pro's A List since it's launch. Saw this laptop at Currys the other day - don't really like the look of it. Doesn't have USB 3 either - something which I really want. Still, it has decent specs for a low price.

seems to have gone
