Don't let a few degrees go to your head and start pimpin your other posts out X)

6gb of ram is a little overkill and the GPU is not all that great for gaming apart from on low setting. The HD6370m is a re-branded HD5470m.

Hot from me !

Excellent spec.

Hot from me too !

It seems the APR-8 code is not working, I try many times but the price still the same. Could you send a right code to get the discounts?

damn it, how come they work on other deals and laptops???

try APR8 or APR7

Codes don't work

The Radeon HD 6370M is very low end and not much better overall than the Intel integrated Graphics with Sandy Bridge CPUs and worse on some games.
Better driver support but that doesn’t make it nearly a full gaming laptop; entry level I would say.

That's a beast of a machine for the price.

Both of the code is not working. What a pity.

Yeah I should have checked the codes before voting

This is only £579.99 on Amazon , so technically cheaper than Save On Laptops

Yes,but it will release on 19th Apr.

class 3 graphics card...

That GPU is TERRIBLE for gaming. Good for media playback, but that's about it.

Awesome package!

Yeah true. Especially Sandy bridge's integrated graphics doubled upon the performance of the 1st gens core i series - essentially turned up the heat for low end discrete gpu market. That said if it has one, I wouldn't complain.

They've quite a few models to pick from, depending on usage.

That one has a GPU as bad as this one, rofl!

Must be for those hardcore solitaire gamers out there, or the uber checkers kings.

hahaha

apparently this IS NOT a gaming laptop
multimedia should be fine though

has anybody actually bought it? code doesnt work for me anyway

not bad but not gaming by any stretch of the imagination.
@ this price you do get some nice tech but no usb3?
would probably prefer a more rounded machine with better screen also.

I do my gaming on an Intel 965 chip! Nothing wrong with it :-p

Stop labeling these laptops with low end ass graphics cards as 'gaming machines', unless you call something that does 20 fps at medium settings on BFBC2 a 'gaming machine'.

The correct title for this deal should be "nowhere near a full gaming laptop"

notebookcheck.net/AMD…tml

"The AMD Radeon HD 6370M (sometimes also still called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370) is a laptop graphics card for entry level notebooks."

I voted this deal down for misrepresentation. Definitely a bad deal for gamers and anyone buying it based on the op's misleading title will regret it, otherwise it's a good deal.

Edited by: "fishmaster" 16th Apr 2011

Yup sadly as stated this is NOT a gaming laptop.

So apart from the price being £600 as the code never worked and the fact that the description is misleading as it is nowhere near a full gaming laptop this nearly hits 400 degrees!

For £60 more (after Quidco) you could have had an XPS 15 with a latest gen Quad Core and much better Graphics, excellent speakers, USB3 etc but no Blu-ray.
I think that puts this deal into perspective.

supermod

Expired as the codes don't appear to apply to this item so the £551.98 deal price isn't available (too large an increase in price to amend and leave unexpired as the votes relate to code price) thanks again for posting

getting a bit bored of these so called 'gaming laptops', which can run crysis on all settings low.

Yeah the GPU on this is no gaming chip. you want at least 6600 series to be calling it a gaming laptop

People need to stop falling for "first number syndrome" when it comes to graphics cards.

1st number = generation
2nd number = Main power class ranking
3rd and 4th number = Relative power within class

So, if you ignore the slight changes that happened when AMD brought out the 6th-generation, it's the last 3 numbers that really count.

My gf's laptop is a 4670, so even though it is 2 generations older, the 670 part means it will trump the 370 of this card.

990
970
950
870
850
830
770
750
670
650
550
470
450
430
etc

So the 4670 is roughly on par with a 5650/6530.

A VERY rough way to calculate is that a single increase in generation allows for a drop in 3rd power, and a rise of 2 generation allows for another drop in both 2nd and 3rd power to be roughly equal.

So a 4830 is on par with a 5770 which is on par with a 6650.

But it's best to just use NotebookCheck

very informative, thanks!

HD 6370M ... it seems like a top end card... but no....

It's just not for gaming. This is why we still build our own desktops.
