I would buy this, only a 17.3" screen is too big for me

that is a pretty well spec'd laptop!

gfx card can handle gaming at med/high settings i think

Looks good to me. I recently bought a Dell XPS 17 with a higher spec but I would have been tempted to go for this at the price. Have some heat.

Not bad specs but shame the display isn't 1920x1080 but still at 1600x900 it wont look to bad

Likewise, about 3 months ago. Awesome in all respects, but may I ask which screen you have. Mine came with the WLED 1600 x 900 and it's very disappointing compared to every other aspect of the XPS. I wondered if you have had a similar experience? Best regards.

Fantastic spec for a new 17 incher at this price.

You haven't got a clue, have you!

If you'd ever owned a Lenovo - you would know they use the cheapest and nastiest displays !!!!

Good deal, not THAT hot though. The Dell Outlet still have some screaming bargains - picked up an XPS15 a couple of weeks ago (new gen i7, 8GB RAM, 250GB 7200rpm HDD, GT250m) for just under £600. That was excellent value..

@sergiup - I am also searching for a similar deal , could you forward me the link of xps15 that u have mentioned above ?

not bad price, For those with a £400 budget, look at the Asus X53E which I thought wasn't to bad if you don't mind less ram, lesser gfx, and smaller screen

The Dell Outlet deals are often one-offs. You have to keep a daily eye on their website, and if you find something then just go for it, otherwise it might well be gone half an hour later. I think this link should send you to the Home Laptops section:

I paid £680 for an Asus that had an i7 processor, 2GB Nvidia gfx card, blu ray drive, and has a very good sound system.

Mind you it only has a 640HB h/d and 6GB ram and a 15.6inch screen.

The spec is good with the 17" screen though I'll wait a few more months and get an i7 (which is quad core) with a 1920x1080 screen.

I just bought this, I'm quite excited!

The 1600x900 is notoriously poor, but the 3D 1080p unit is one of the best, but you pay for it!

(£270 upgrade from the retail site!!)

I think i5 is quad core too.

I just bought an Asus with this exact spec but with a bluray drive for $549 in America (£350). Was refurbished - but essentially brand new. Couldn't believe my luck

Good price for a well balanced Laptop, nice for a change. CPU will cover 99% of peoples needs plenty of RAM and a discrete that will be able to play some modern games at low-med with no aa and older games like Half Life 2 etc should play fine. Lenovo are good brand.
