"I can build better than this for 17 pounds and 10p"

Is a very basic 3rd gen i3 build really worth 250 notes? I have my doubts...

Bet it can be build it for 17 pounds and 10p...or as near as damn...but without the spyware

I think this is excellent for the money if it suits your needs (its an every day pc - will do fine for over 90% of all home use). 2 yr guarantee from a decent retailer too.

Voted hot
A 2012 Ivybridge CPU and HD 2500 graphics and a very basic spec make the price about right if you're after a basic office/home study base unit with only four USB ports (no USB 3.0) and, as far as I can see from the spec and a review of a Dutch review site, no HDMI, DVI, Display port, just VGA, though cheaper elsewhere.

For those unconcerned about display output options and handing new HD video formats, like 4k @ 60hz at high resolutions on a suitable monitor (if that matters to you, look for HD 4600 graphics and above and a display port output), I am big fan of John Lewis and their 2 yr warranty but for those who want to pay a fiver or so less, laptops direct have it at £244.95, which includes basic five day shipping.
