Think it's best for the money I've seen so far off here
Does it have a dedicated graphics card then?

Doesn't look like this does but there's an hp for £50 more with graphics card and otherwise similar spec I think. currys.co.uk/gbu…tml
Really considering this.....
Wow, if the cashback actually pays out, this seems to actually be a pretty great deal for the price.

I'm looking for something like this with a better battery life, preferably more lightweight and with a nicer trackpad. Do miracles exist?

Not by the looks of it. It's a good spec for a non-gamer and should run some older games reasonably well with the on-board graphics.
Hi. Looking for a laptop to run this software well for my wife. Would the lack of graphics card stop it from running. Ideally don’t want to spend more than £500 but looking I think we will have to. Thanks in advance for any advice

The HP has the edge for me with the mx940 graphics, but only if you want to run games at OK frame rates.

Mx940 isn’t much better than this one
Anyone have any clue if you can upgrade the ram to 16gb or not?

Considering this one would use the onboard graphics of the 8550u while the other one has the same CPU plus the dedicated mx940 and its 4gb GDDR5 I think its enough to make difference if you're doing occassional gaming.

Sure, the 940 is bad compared to the 950, and 150 is better than both in most cases - but a 8550u with a 940 is clearly better than without - even if the 8550u is 'OK'.

The HP also has (stated) better battery life, lower weight and also has a 1080p IPS screen.

Really tempted by this but apparently the screen isn’t great? Apparently quite dim and poor colours

What's the deal with the low spec webcams in these laptops?
Am looking for a laptop that's good for browsing, watching/streaming sport and films and playing Football Manager - am I right in thinking this laptop's 1.8Ghz processor speed is quite slow?

This would be fine for all of those things. To be honest if that's all you want to do an i3 processor would be more than capable, and about half the price.
The 1.8Ghz on an i7 processor isn't the same as 1.8Ghz would have been on older processors like a pentium 4 etc., So don't worry about that

Sadly it's a glossy brightview screen which kills the hp for me. Great if you like glossies though!

looks like you need plenty of ram, a good graphics card and top end processor. Consider buying a desktop instead.
If anyone is still interested in this laptop, get £75 off it in the next 45minutes before 6pm from the official currys pc world store on ebay with today's ebay 20% off code.

Also topcashback for ebay.
