I don’t quite understand the above, is it any good for a basic laptop for someone that doesn’t want to spend much money

It's true dinosaurs do still roam the planet.

This laptop is designed to be light and portable, over speed.

Processor speed is actually quite slow by modern standards (all Intel N processors are), as its designed with long battery life in mind. I personally don't like them, but if I wanted a laptop to take on holiday, this might be an OK choice.

2GB Ram is adequate, but not amazing for Windows 10.
32GB is not much storage for your programs, but you could add a MicroSD card.

As OP states, its a OK for Web use and Office. Its quite a slow unit - Not sure I would want it for a permanent home laptop. For school or taking on holiday, its lightwieght and would be fine. I'm sure you'll get different opnions on this site.

Picked up one of these from Tesco last year for £88 and it's fine for browsing, light office work, movie watching etc. It's not a powerhouse and doesn't pretend to be. It's a cheap, light throw in your bag for hotel stays, holidays etc. It won't replace your desktop/gaming laptop and as long as you know it's limitations then it has a use

If budget friendliness is a priority I would opt for a Chromebook over this if you want a machine for simple web browsing. and other basic tasks. Over time on these cheap machines with updates and anti virus stuff the arteries beome blocked up and they become slower and slower. Chromebooks are much more efficient on this front, there are some inexpensive ones out there.

Picked up one for my 9 year old for school homework and browsing. Should be sufficient hopefully. Additional storage can be added if you are confident opening it up from what I can see online. Was grudgingly looking to buy a higher spec but for all the times the old laptop was used I couldn't justify it.

I bought one of these for my 10yr old last year. For the money its fantastic, the screen being the only letdown (a bit washed out). For homework/ web-surfing / watching videos its perfect.

Brilliant tactical move, they will not be able to use it for gaming

If you are gonna go this cheap and still want windows over chrome os I'd get something from China like the jumper EZbook pro. You'll get way more for your money

Would this spec run Roblox? My 11yr old is addicted and hogs the media center pc, so no one can watch tv!

That one's now extinct by the looks of it. Suspended!

Voted hot but this one in Currys seems to be the same but with a faster processor (3160 instead of 3060) which has a benchmark score of 1690 vs around 993

Also hopefully with 5% Quidco cashback for "all Lenovo laptops"

I brought my daughter the 100s 2 years ago from John Lewis it looks pretty much same spec to me. It plays roblocks, YouTube browsing fine just don't expect it to be rapid. It's good enough to do homework on and cheap. I paid 100 on a black Friday deal.

I took it back to John Lewis 2 days ago keyboard randomly stopped working nothing spilt or no dirt in it. Excellent customer service from John Lewis.
