The acer aspire from ebuyer.com I posted is probably the better deal, for the same price you get the i3 6006u as here but you get 8GB RAM and the same 1TB HD but also the Acer has an M.2 slot on it.

It's not a bad deal this tho

But the Acer does not have an optical drive... swings and roundabouts.

And the Acer is an Acer!! :-( From experience I would expect it to fall to bits as soon as the warranty expires!

Do you really think it will last that long

Guys I can't decide between the Acer and Lenovo at 299 price. Please help me decide.

you could always stick more ram in to bring it to 8gb

I hate it when most websites fail to mention the resolution nowadays. If it's not full HD on such a tiny screen, I would ignore it

Thanks for posting OP (and Rich44 for his comments on numerous laptop threads). Was tempted by the higher spec Lenovo at John Lewis for £380 (ssd, 8gb ram & 3yr warranty but still poor resolution), but settled on this rather than the similar spec Acer at Currys. Price is £289 online and don't forget Quidco (higher rate than TCB).
