Lenovo IdeaPad 320 15.6 In i3 8GB 128GB Laptop - Blue - £349.99 @ Argos eBay Store

This is my first post but it's about time I contributed.
I found this SSD laptop on the Argos ebay website for £350 - using the code PAYDAY10 gives you 10% off and brings it down to £315. Also, Quidco are giving 1% cashback and you can claim 350 nectar points. In store pick up will save you £3.95 postage cost. With everything included it's under £310. It's a comparable deal to the 320S in curry's. Ok it's the 320 version (bigger), not 1080p and a 6th gen icore 3 (apposed to 7th gen) but this one comes with an additional 4GB RAM. I thought this was a pretty good deal.

Currys 320s is much better

Fair comment because I like the Curry's deal too but this gives people another option. It has 8GB RAM and is cheaper too

The SSD in the 320s can act as pagefile RAM effectively giving the laptop a total of 12 gig RAM if you wanted and you would never even know it's pagefile because the SSD is so quick.
It was a joke lol

On Jan 5th this was £279.99 on Currys PC world but with inter pentium gold.( slightly better processor)

Good deal though heat added

Both laptops have SSD but I guess it’s up to the buyer if they prefer 8GB RAM and save some money

I suspected it was a wind up I think the gold version is currently £299 at curry’s with 4GB RAM. Open to seeing other posts for current deals
Thanks for taking the time to share OP. The deal is about right I should think if you compare it would cost an extra £40 on the Currys deal to make that version 8gb ram.
I weighed this up before. For what it’s worth I concluded that it’s better to get the Curry’s version, which is the 320S , for £15 more. As there is no easy user upgrade for things like a newer faster processor, and the resolution of the screen is this deal on a 15” laptop would more than a little off to many, which you can’t realistically change either. The Currys 320S has a 1080p screen. it’s an IPS panel too. Many people buy laptops that will never leave the home, but to some the 14” 320s and it’s light weight difference is a bonus. If there comes a time where the 320s does need the 4gb ram upgrade then that is easily doable.

Fair comment. We went for the bigger screen 15inch but I appreciate some people want a smaller 14inch screen
Trade in an old laptop and get a quad core i5 for a little bit more pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml easy to upgrade ram and hard drives, virtual impossible to upgrade a cpu so get one that’ll last a good few years.

Well the 320s is also sleeker, thinner, lighter and more stylish. All important things for a laptop unless it never leaves the house
cold solely because of the screen resolution.

The spec and price are good but with a screen with such appalling resolution you need to go to specsavers before buying this.

You will never be able to upgrade the screen or the processor. The processor is fine. The screen resolution is horrendous,

In which ways is it better than Acer Swift 1?
What are the bad points of 320S
I dont have much pc knowledge - so would appreciate any help please.
Would 128 SSD be enough to run:

Windows 10 & subsequent updates
Norton Internet Security
and MS office.

How much GB of space would be left once all the above have been installed? thanks.
by the way, anyone else having problems ordering?

I get the following message on checkout:

Sorry, we can't process your payment. Here are your options:
Use a different credit or debit card.
Pay with a PayPal account.

I tried both the above methods as well - and still it failed and now ebay have suspended my account.

Not sure how to resolve, any help please - thanks.

Hi, all-metal build, ligher sturdier and longer battery life plus a HD webcam on the Swift 1, designed for students, business use.

If you need more processing power and a larger screen than the Lenovo.

For anyone who is about to buy this, the TN screen on this it's awful, get the 320s instead. Go in Currys and see for yourself.

I understand Pagefile, but I've never heard of the SSD acting as effective extra RAM. Do you have a link to some info on this or can you expand?

Page/swap file is the last thing you want on your SSD unless you want it to die sooner, it is actually recommended to disable page file with SSD drives. It also won't have anywhere near the performance of RAM.

I saw it for real in CurrysPcWorld and it does indeed suck. There seem to be so many versions of 320S that you can always spend a bit more for a little extra

I just ordered this and it is shocking. Received yesterday and turned on last night to do all the updates and it finished doing that this morning when I woke up. CPU was maxed out which I managed to sort through no help from Lenovo (im a total newbie to laptops), 100% disk space usage despite not having any windows open. Speak with Lenovo and they said to reboot, however I had just finished all the updates it does when you first switch it on. Spoke with Microsoft who did loads of different things, restarted it about 5 times and nothing worked and now its stuck on the "scanning and repairing disk"... I would avoid! It's going back on Monday. Absolute waste of money!
