Similar the the Currys one except £30 more... for that you get 8gb RAM over 4gb... also you get John Lewis over Currys

Personally I'd pay £30 just to not have to deal with Currys...the fact that you get double the RAM is the icing on the cake

John Lewis can be just as cr@ppy to deal with as anyone, especially when it comes to laptops, I speak from experience - in fact *Very* treated me better than John Lewis when they got something wrong
This is not a 320s like the currys deal. This is more bulkier than that.

The curry’s one is full HD
Don't buy this, get the 320s from Curry's.
The TN screen on this is seriously bad. See for yourself.

Which is the link for the 320s for £30 more?
Wasn't the Curry's one £30 more for an i5? Ram can always be upgraded, a processor can't

Here you go. CLICK
Just to make this absolutely clear, while this is still a good deal, this is not very comparable to the Currys deal as this is the chunky 320, NOT the 320s

Oh that's less. The one mentioned above in the quotes is £30 more. Think that was the i5 4gb 128gb ssd. I would've opted for that.

Thanks anyways
Wow, i3's are not obsolete yet? What a time to be alive.

They can be overclocked 50% speed increase so that's probably why, very versatile CPUs

Did you just suggest all i3's are the same?

No they can not.
Screen upgrade is worth going for the curry’s one
Go for the Currys one!
Go for the better screen. Your eyes will thank you.
The other one is a much better deal. The RAM can be upgraded, most likely the screen cannot.
This is chalk and cheese

The curry's one is much better

Why? Makes it faster and doesn't increase heat output
Have to agree with the curry's deal is so much better than this not sure why its getting voted hot ?

The airflow on a laptop is designed for a certain thermal profile, exceed that and you're putting all nearby components at risk.
The battery will also take a serious hit on performance and lifespan.

I've seen them side-by-side and the 1080p panel is a lot brighter and crisper.

The RAM can be upgraded on these but I think there's only 1 RAM slot so it'd be a more expensive RAM replacement.
I also believe that there's room for a SATA disk (the included SSD is mSATA) so you can inexpensively bulk out the storage if needed.

I just said there is no heat increase so thermal profile not affected. Also battery life hasn't changed, try again.

Oh, you said...
If you overclock a CPU, you increase the heat output.

Maybe one or two degrees which would happen naturally for the laptop when sold in hotter countries. In other words well within its limitations.
Went to have look in currys today and lucky enough they had this and 320s side b side and the 320s is 100% times better and its cheaper.
320S £329 direct from Lenova if you'd prefer to deal direct. Not many left though.. It's not just HD it's IPS also much better than a TN panel.
