Old cpu

Who cares. It’s £329.99 with an SSD, full HD display and old doesn’t equal ‘slow’.

It’s obviously clearance stock now the newer generation CPUs are out

Ah man thats a bit sour, just bought this last week in the very same sale for £350, lowering prices while still in the same sale doesnt motivate me to buy again from currys knowing the price could drop even further. I know its only £20 but still, lame. I suspect I'm around the 8 day mark, I'll call them tomorrow and see if they would like my future custom....

Edit: For those who are interested the laptop is really surprisingly good. I bought it to complement my studies and for portability as ive got a big old desktop rig at home, coming from an overclocked i5-3570k i thought i would notice the i3, but not at all! The ssd is a blazing fast nvme drive (1800 MB/s+ reads) which is normally reserved for ultra premium lappies/pcs. Some people question the 4 GB of ram rightly so, but as i suspected as it's fast (2133mhz (actually 2400mz dimms though hm?)) ddr4 combined with a lightning ssd for potential pagefiling i havent noticed the slightest drop of ram limitations, coming from a guy that has about 50 chrome tabs, powerpoints, word docs and the like open at the same time. The keyboard is strangely the best ive ever had on a laptop. The only con that others have mentioned that i can concur with is that while the screen IS indeed IPS, the peak brightness is lower than the norm. However this is very slight its usable outdoors and lit rooms well, just doesnt have the ability to really 'pop', but then you're pushing it looking for a premium ips panel in a £330 lappie.

Bet you it didnt have a FHD IPS screen, didn't have ddr4 ram and didnt have an NVME ssd, didnt have usb c 3.1, and it was a thick fat version not a 320s.... Without meaning to be rude, you must have been under a rock for the past 10 years if you dont consider £330 for a FHD ultrabook a cracking price...

Didn’t have the 128 GB SSD I think
Issues with slow WiFi.

Reviews recommend you replace the WiFi thingymagig
Just bought this for £349 the other day, will they refund difference or better just returning as i've not used it yet?

You can over lock it 50% with no heat increase so it's a steal of a deal

Yes it is, but there is only one slot. I.e. you'd have to replace it with a 8gb stick, you wouldnt be able to 'add' 4gb to the existing 4gb.
Grrr, got this for my dad last Saturday in store at £349 so tomorrow will be too late to request the difference. In store it was beside the non HD version and there was quite a noticeable difference. It is really fast but it is the first ssd laptop that I’ve used. Took a while to update at first setup. Currys tried to persuade me to pay £40 to set it up and create the recovery drives but I told them no chance. Bought a 32gb flash drive for a tenner and did it myself, you need 8gb minimum to do that. The salesperson did throw in a years McAfee internet security subscription.

Well I retract, that is a very good deal. I think one must concede however that given the status quo price on on these sorts of laptops, £330 is significantly below the median price.

check the PC geek haha

It's a fantastic laptop for folk with a life.
Is this going to run Football Manager well though - I just can't decide!

I’d take a Lenovo over an Acer any day - I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen apart as it’s over a year old now...

And since when did Black Friday deals vs. anything else count? So if you need a laptop now, you basically shouldn’t just in case something better turns up on Black Friday. I couldn’t work out if his original comment was sarcastic but now it’s obvious it’s just terrible trolling.

The spec on the 8gb JL model shows as 1366 X 768, but the Currys 4gb model is listed as 1920 x 1080. Anyone able to say which is correct? Or both correct?

Not good deal, it's not Full-HD and that TN screen is awful.
wasn't sure, that was why I put assume ,unable to find any info apart from jl
The JL version is the 320 I believe not the 320s. The 320 is a chunky ******* while the 320s is the sort of 'ultrabook' thin variant

Not everyone wants to buy used laptops from carboot sales complete with the previous owners DNA all over it, but enjoy your acer, which have terrible build quality and hinges made of cheese

Yes but only by taking out the 4gb dimm of the one slot it has. Maximum of 8gb

Ah. Never noticed the missing "S" in the description. Thanks.

Have ordered the 320S for pickup today from Currys.

wifi seems fine on this. Speed test results show happily over 50mb
Anyone got hold of one yet from Currys?

I am very tempted by this one, I tend to open dozens and dozens of chrome tabs, would this suffice?

thanks
Ordered one of these to collect later today, anyone point me in the direction of the 8gb ram I need for it? Not really clued up on these
thanks
can you upgrade the ram on this?
Interested in this. At 1.7kg it's also really light for carrying around.
