Been better deals over past few weeks
Suggest you edit Title to include "IPS FHD" & "i5-8250U"
Strings like "Intel® Core™ i5 Laptop" are imprecise and will cost you heat.

Here's a better deal: ao.com/pro…spx

More ram, more battery life, ryzen is comparable and it was actually 399 a few weeks ago.

so the ryzen that i saw that throttles, with the same amount of ram, and a slight reduction for black friday? ok?

i'd have bought the 8th gen i3 330s over that for £20 less just to avoid HP.

i'd argue that one *has* to be £400 to be a good deal, this one doesn't.

these 330s are always around this mark, but they're still what i'd spend my money on if i needed the basics (not a shit processor, ssd, fhd)

EDIT: Thought it was 8 gig. it's not.

To be fair the throttling impacts graphics and even with throttling it would be equivalent to this. Reality is 8th Gen v Ryzen is virtually a tie in most situations. Agree I would choose to avoid hp if possible given horrendous build quality. Not sure if this model is affected but Lenovo have Had habit of using single channel memory, certainly the 320s did which hampers graphics performance significantly

Nice find, great specs and with an extra bit of £ you can get an additional 8Gb of ram to add to the 4GB that is soldered to the motherboard, which brings the total RAM to 12Gb. Love the thin bezels and minimalistic look of this laptop...

I bought one similar to this (HP 15)... Great laptop but the colours on screen seem washed out.

I bought the i3 128gb for my daughter on an even cheaper Curry’s sale. It’s perfect for her unit work. If you want to game at all, forget the i3 or i5, but the Ryzen 2600u can run most games at 720 medium settings and quite a few slightly older ones at 1080.

Because it's Lenovo - so the start button may fail to operate and the adaptor will fail. If you're lucky that will happen just inside the guarantee period but more likely to be after 13-18 months.

as opposed to HP?

but i swear the link last night said 8 gig ram. I take it back, with 4 gig this price isn't so great.

That's alright. I spent SO long looking for a good laptop and found what I would consider a bargain. It's not a bad deal... but there are better deals
oh yeah, i agree - i even checked the website when you said the hp had more ram, and still swear it said 8 gig. i must be going mad.

not worth it for 4 really.
15" Ryzen version with 8gb is in Argos eBay. Refurbished.

Damn just read a review about throttling. Didn't know this existed outside of internet speeds! More complications for a noob buyer!
EDIT this for the 'better' laptop posted inside this deal above somewhere (AO).
