I went for this one Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15.6 Inch Pentium 4GB 1TB Laptop last week for £249.99.
It was a quad core and the spec seemed a bit better to me.

  • Intel Pentium Silver N5000 processor.
  • Quad core processor.
  • 1.1GHz processor speed.
  • 4GB RAM DDR4.
  • 1TB HDD storage.
  • Hard drive speed 5400RPM.
  • Microsoft Windows 10.
Not got it out of the box yet so can't comment on how it runs yet but the basic Argos reviews seem ok.
It's ok'ish for the money, considering it is new with a warranty, processor is a bit old but with the ssd should run fast enough for a basic laptop.

I want to go for ssd as the last 2 laptops I have had both had very clicky hard drives it gets really irritating listening to the hdd clicking away, so I have been told as ssd has no moving parts so that will not be an issue. Is what I have been told right? Thanks for taking the time to comment

The "clicking" is nothing. The main benefit with SSD is they are extremely faster then a standard HDD......and obviously silent.

The clicking is something, it is up there with baby crying for irritating noises especially when trying to think about what I am writing I am not looking to launch space probes just an average pc to use word on and stream movies I think this will do fine

Yeah, may suit some, but should be easily swithced to full fat.
Decent for a 12 year old for school work, YouTube, basic games?
