good price for the specs. as someone has commented, a bit on the heavy side. shame only 128gb of storage, but guess that is reflected in the price.

This would be ok for your usage wouldn't it, the one I've mentioned in the previous Swift post was this 330s.

the one in this original post is the same as the box.co.uk one i think. i would still prefer the acer swift 3 because it is lighter. to me, the weight of the laptop is really important. the battery life on this one is not as good either. for the lower spec of the acer i got, there were better hardware. my preference would have been to have got the acer swift 3 with ryzen 5 and 8gb of ram. but i don't want to pay over the odds for it. i think i have a decent laptop considering i needed it urgently

True, but to be fair, a 256GB HDD within it, literally wouldn't have added an excessive amount upon the current price of what it is now?.

Eg. double storage, wouldn't necessarily financially set you back double (see what I did there? )

All joking aside, it would have added barely an additional £15-£20 to the cost of the Lenovo in this Deal (give or take? - if even that?, lol).

So it depends on your take on thing's (the way I see it). :-D

But I do hear what you're saying though. :-)
Slightly related question:-
I'm looking to buy a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (6th or 7th Gen) on Black Friday... are there any high street or online stores that sell this laptop or is it only available in the UK via Lenovo direct ?

How heavy is the MacBook Air?

How heavy is the MacBook Air?

1.25kg. 420g difference, and substantially more expensive. Personally 420g wouldn't bother me, but I guess it might for a small person carrying the laptop all day

That’s a fair bit of difference but the price is a lot higher too. I have to say aesthetically looking the MacBook Air is a nicer looking laptop, however I hate MacBooks due to the whole operating system it’s not user friendly.

This laptop looks good value for money just a bit ugly in the pictures.

Heat given anyway. Good find OP
Bad experience with Lenovo purchased the 10 inch tablet a year ago just doesn't update stuck on Android 7.7 wish I hadn't bothered rubbish device
Thanks OP have gone for one for daughter and tried the £50 off £100 code - hopefully all processed ok

I wasn’t suggesting comparing the two from a purchasing perspective, it was just the lightest laptop I could think of.

This is not heavy in comparison to many in the same price range. I’ve just ordered 2 of these for the kids for Xmas. Perfect for what they need at £300 a piece, cheers OP
Ordered with the £50 off code for new customers. It's a lot of laptop for £279.99! Thanks OP!

Hardly the same thing here but ok
Do you need to go through a credit check to open an account on Very? Even if you want to pay one off while purchasing

Thanks

This should easily run FM 2020 Although it doesn't have a dedicated video card but in the past FM doesnt require a lot of graphical power, so just tinker with the settings but it should be quite comfortable with it

Open a new Very credit account. Then get £50 off your first order over £100. So in this case you're getting this laptop for £280 + £3.99 P&P.

Or I was wondering if copying the operating system to my 256gb ssd and then swaping. I hope no problems with that if ssd size and ports are same.
Heat added, does this have a backlit keyboard?

Any feedback gratefully appreciated
Thanks OP, have been looking for one with such specs at this size and the price is better than what I have been looking at! Took a punt now rather than wait a few more days till black friday arrives 🙈
Would this play

Sudden strike 1,2 and 3
Cossacks 1 and 2
Stronghold

Plus newer similar games ?

Close but that one has a 1366x768 display, so the laptop in the deal is 1920x1080 which is a much better display. Plus that one is only 4gb ram and the processor isn't as good so the one in the deal is much better

I bought a Lenovo 10 inch tablet a couple of years ago, no software updates at all...it's really heavy and takes about 10 minutes to turn on, so slow and annoying

This looks to have a different CPU than the OP deal. Not the same I'd say
Ordered 2 days ago, just arrived. Looks decent enough, not too heavy, nice feel to it.
Can't comment on screen or performance yet as it's for Christmas but confident with the spec.
I bought this 3 months ago & I have to say it is proper quick at starting up & I am very happy with it.

But I thought I would muck about with it & I am about to install Crucial 16GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM & Crucial P1 500GB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD.

I cannot see it being faster but the memory @ 128GB is a bit lacking.
